Awesome build! So much cleaner that my Frankenstein bolted together prerunner build. We need more running video! As for phasing the driveshafts, I think it would be good practice as it prevents the wheels from constantly accelerating and decelerating when the driveshaft isn’t running parallel. I used slash driveshafts on my build and they’re permanently phased due to the design, but on my crawler I can notice a slight difference in wheel speed. Probably not a huge deal at this scale though
@DoubleClutchProductions2 жыл бұрын
Have you seen the Jeep and bronco running videos? Good info on the phasing
@44-Offroad2 жыл бұрын
Piñon angle adjustment would help alleviate the driveline issues you’re having. I noticed at full droop it’s really bad. Your upper links could be adjusted to fix the angle of the rear axle.
@DoubleClutchProductions2 жыл бұрын
I disagree, the driveline angle was never an issue, the only reason I upgraded the driveline is because they wouldn't hold the pins in and I would loose them. The axles themselves are not designed to hold power, far outside of my application upgrading to the baja rey was a must. If you adjust the upper links your effectively adjusting anti squat and its dialed right where it's at. 👍😎

Awesome truck man!!! ever thought about using rock pirate shock tower's for the rear???
@DoubleClutchProductions2 жыл бұрын
I have checked them out super quality, the only issue is I would still have to use a shock key to get the placement because I might be the only dude using this size shock on crawlers, One of the keys of using a gatekeeper shock tower is the chassis brace that comes with it that is actually the front battery mount so I get some cross frame bracing for free with the gatekeeper towers

@DoubleClutchProductions2 жыл бұрын
Ha thanks for watching buddy. The 2wd makes these challenging to control but the 2wd corners way better because it's got no diff but I would stick to the IFS for prerunner builds, it works good for what it is. The 4x4 on this 4runner in loose dirt or sand does really good too. I would leave it 4x4 and leave the IFS and run it for a bit. After you run it 4x4 you can dabble with rwd and see what you like best 👍

Good morning, sorry to bother you again lol I was bored this weekend to I decided to get my shocks and everything ready to I just temporarily build the car back up with your trailing arm conversation plates I just moved them back to make the wheelbase longer, all the holes don’t line up, I just did this temporary to get my shocks and stuff ready for when I get your chassis rails. But I Running the knight runner body for now untill I find another truck body. I’m using 25w oil and the green spring on the proline powerstroke shocks. I think I need more weight in the rear cause it seems like it’s still sitting way to high in the rear, I’m going to see if I can drill new hole and get the battery tray lower and add somthing else to for weight. Just wondering if you had any suggestions on getting the truck to sag lower. Also I’d really like to keep using a truck body.
@DoubleClutchProductions7 ай бұрын
Any way for you to send some pictures on Instagram? The shock angle has a,lot to do with spring rates. If your not on the normal mounting location it could change the angle/digression of the shock. The battery tray by design is higher than people like but it's effecting the cg height and anti squat, moving the battery lower in my testing was not a upgrade geometry wise contrary to what we all would think. It needs a battery mounted to achieve ride height. The proline kit comes with yellow springs. Make sure your springs are both the green ones. Without pictures I can't give much more advise 👊😎
