@directorr_it’s mainly due to his absence at home that he wasn’t able to realise mafuyu’s struggles earlier and because of mafumom always being the one to give mafuyu advice, he always just agreed with her since he’s obviously think she’s the parent most at home and knows mafuyu better than him. For example, the conversation between the three of them at dinner about mafuyu studying until midnight, mafudad originally agreed with mafuyu that she could study until midnight if she wanted to cover everything she needed, but when mafumom brought up the benefits of her sleeping early of course he started agreeing with her. Overall, I think mafudad is just unable to find a good enough reason to go against mafumom yet, since she’ll have her own reasons to contradict the claim mafuyu was suffering under her pressure. Mafumom knows what she’s doing, mafudad needs more information. Hopefully (and most likely) he’ll be able to talk with mafumom and end up being on Mafuyu’s side completely convinced. 🙏

@@-lunaaaaaeeee yeah, mafudad is someone who is trying to bridge the gap his absence in mafuyu's life has caused and it's very clear that he loves her unconditionally, he just didn't know the full picture due to his absence and operated under the assumption that everything was okay. he's moving toward understanding her better. he trusts her, doesn't judge her and is willing to accommodate her needs even if that need is space away from her family. i hope he stays like this and with the way kanade describes their relationship it seems like reconciliation is the path the writers want to take with these two

I’m so glad that Mafuyu’s dad seems to genuinely care about Mafuyu and not want to manipulate her, but he was clearly neglecting Mafuyu if he wasn’t checking up on her before and preventing Mafuyu’s mother from manipulating her so much, of course he may not have been aware but in the story it mostly shows us things about Mafuyu’s mom, implying that Mafuyu’s dad wasn’t around much to protect her and check up on her. I’m glad he’s trying to be a good father now though, and I just hope Mafuyu’s mother eventually gets better. And I hope Mafuyu can spend a lot of time living with Kanade because she seems way more comfortable with Kanade and she seems to be getting much better since she’s been opening up more.

I would also add that considering how many lessons and cram school sessions mafuyu has had to go to thus far, that it feeds into this even more. Those lessons aren't free after all, so I could see the dad "buckling down" and taking on more hours to earn for his family while spending less and less time at home. I'm happy to see him trying to meet more with his daughter genuinely

He may also have been partially manipulated by Mafumom. Mafuyu also partially manipulates her parents (not in a bad way ofc) to believe she's their "perfect" little child, so he probably assumed that she was ok

I feel so much for Mafuyu. It says a lot about how much has happened to her if she's scared to tell her father that she doesn't like something as small as a short cake. But it makes me happy that her father is willing to be so understanding and helpful ♥️

while mafuyu's dad IS doing steps into the right direction, i feel like its important to acknowledge that he was either absent enough to not notice his wife's abuse, or was complacent in it. i dont really have hopes too high for him yet, because trying to save things ONLY when your usually "well-behaving" daughter has a breakdown (because of something YOU could have prevented) and runs away is a lot too late and too little. all that said though, a properly written somewhat-redemption for mafuparents would be nice
