A new series on upgrading a set of Bachman Gp35s, but first, a history lesson!
I apologize for my voice, I have been putting this video off for weeks due to my nose being stuffed solid but decided to just go ahead and do the voice over as I wanted to go ahead and release it.

Nice seeing the old layouts. I’m sure I’ve said this before but your layout is where I fell in love with you r operation system. It was a nice setup and you created a monster. I look forward to this series.

Thanks Jason! They haven't made much progress but I'm starting to get the itch to tear into them some more.

What an amazing story, you truly are a cool dude. A story that's all too familiar, I too had a similar past. I'm very glad I subbed to you, and I can't wait to see your Bachmann locos all spiffed up. Take care buddy. Dave B.

Pretty ambitious project. First, I would see if I could successfully modify the shell to suit your needs cause if you can't model the shell the way you want to, then there's no point in modifying the chassis/adding electronics. Get some stryene, plug in the holes of the old headlight cavity, sand smooth, see if you can colour match the action red and paint the styrene. (this is going to be the hardest thing to do). Next, get a pin vise and drill out new openings for your headlights. You're going to then need to make headlight lenses (unless you can use the old ones?). Once you have the shell and shell details done, move to electronics. TSU WOW sound decoders are garbage. You really should consider going to LokSound 5 and downloading the appropriate sounds. If it's a split frame chassis, you're really limited in what you can do in terms of decoder/speaker placement. Those split frames hold everything from the gear towers to the motor and there's no real way of milling out a cavity for the decoder. Get some silly putty and put it in position where you think the decoder is going to go, then test fit the shell. The silly putty will leave an impression and show you how much room you have inside the shell. You may not have room for a sound decoder and speaker? You really need to know what's possible before opening your wallet. Then DCC'ing a Bachmann split frame... what a pain in the a** !!!! Know what you're getting into first.

Thanks for your input. I've research and done similar projects without the external detailing in the past. I have a pretty solid plan that I've tested and implemented in the past. I do prefer TCS over ESU as all of my other Locos are fitted with TCS WOW Sound and run without issues.

@@DaveCoTrains great! Looks like you have a plan in place... shouldn't be too difficult then. Good luck, keep up the videos.
