This video is just too cool. I appreciate people like yourself who go out of their way to help others gain the knowledge and inspiration to take on projects like this on their own. I just ordered this system for my 2014 Breakout after watching your video. Clean, simple, and to the point. Job well done.

I was already leaning towards the Shotgun brand, but your video clinches it. Thanks so much for taking the time to make it. I'm told that Shotgun provides good instructions with their kit, well, between that, and your video, there's no way you can mess up the install. Cheers!

I realize this is an older video. A friend has this on his 2007 Heritage Deluxe. We are going to relocate drain by adding a fitting with a hose or pipe and routing it to a more convenient location.

Interesting concept, however, how does one get to the transmission drain plug that is above the shocks? Do you have to drop the shocks every time one needs to do a transmission oil change? OEM shocks have a space between them to access the transmission drain plug.
@SmokyOwl2 жыл бұрын
That IS the archilles heel to this, it's a common complaint. You could try and put an extension to that plug hole to a more accessible area, or siphon the fluid from the fill hole. I have a screamin' eagle 6-speed installed in my 06' so my drain hole is at the bottom of the transmission side plate by the exhaust. Otherwise yes, you'd have to move the shocks out of the way to drain the transmission oil.

Hi does the air ride lower the bike and at the same time still have comfort riding over bumps I have a 89 softail I put a lowering kit on and it had limited travel which made it ruff like a rigid I really want it back low but with comfort Thank you for your knowledge and patience
@bendaves776 жыл бұрын
I've got a 07 street glide with air ride and am getting ready to start building a 08 deluxe and will definitely be putting air ride on it cause once you ride a Harley with air ride you won't go back.. it makes adjustments easily due to loading the bike down for a trip or if you're wife wants to go for a ride you just add some air by pushing the toggle switch. And with air ride you can park it on soft soil and let the air out and it takes most of the weight off the kickstand so no tipping

@edwardburrese80297 жыл бұрын

You have to disconnect the front of the Shock by backing out the bolts then lower the shock with the rear bolts still in place just let it hang down
@davidm.38825 жыл бұрын
There will be another how to video for that!

you have to disconnect one end of the shock and let it hang to change the fluid.

Yes, seems like a lot of trouble to go through every time you need to change the transmission fluid.

I've always wondered if the ride is like a rigid frame when it's down all of the way.
@speedfreaktv7 жыл бұрын
Phil Brown there are rubber bumpers on the frame that the swing air rests against. It's not actually metal to metal... Some guys remove these bumpers and the pipes hit the ground. I never bothered.

How do you drain the transmission? That new system covers the drain plug so that it cannot be reached. Even if you can reach the plug and remove it, oil everywhere.

That's the one issue I have as well. I guess you have to loose the front bolts every time and let hang on to the rear ones

They may have great customer service but if these things continually get sent out with flaws or fuckups.... the warranty won’t matter much to Canadians. The fucking shipping alone returning back to the USA will kill us. I wanna buy em... but not after reading the reviews. I’m going with the Legends kit.

How do I install the bushings on a progressive shock on a Softail

@SHOTGUNSHOCK8 жыл бұрын
Problem?
@Davan5148 жыл бұрын
of course. Everything was so simple. Do you think it's so easy to remove those bolts on the OEM shocks? Then, he didn't mention that we need to tap two holes to fix the compressor. Your product looks good but the process to install it is not a walk in the park. In fact, it was like that on all his project. Always seems simple...nothing against you though.
@SHOTGUNSHOCK8 жыл бұрын
Removing the stock shock bolts can be troubling, sometimes we need to apply heat to break the bolts loose. 2000-2006 models do require tapping the "existing" holes ( we include the tap with the kit) Did you get it installed after all?
@Davan5148 жыл бұрын
SHOTGUNSHOCK no I am still hesitating to buy it. This speedfreak guy doesn't help either. Everything is simple with him which is not the case when you're working on a bike. I wish to find out a good video showing every step by step. That should help you and the customer too. Investing 1500$ is a lot.
@Gakk137 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Likewise in other sections of his Dream Bike bolt-on "build". He doesn't explain very well.
