Where you at , I wanta come help you knock out the list ? The engine , a Ls9 6.2 w/ 6speed automatic ? About a mild 538 hp ...wait what ? I'm not right ? I can change that easy enough , I got one sitting here im wondering what the heck I'm gonna do with it ? I started Bing watching you from the scrapping video , I feel like I'm stalking you , don't worry I'm harmless , the only person I hurt is myself , usually when I'm trying to fix something 😂😂 , I had to learn more of that truck 😂

Im a huge fan of the fleetside 👍trucks (not to be confused w/ the cameo). I originally was going to do an LS1 but completely changed the direction of the build after I found a CAT3116 diesel which came out of an old school bus 🤪🤯😁! And the rest is history as they say. Did you buy it as a project? If so, how long have you owned it? And are you currently working on it or is it finished? Big fan of the old Chevy trucks..especially the old GMC stub nose or 630...the big trucks..
@RichardSuave77774 жыл бұрын
@@ChallengeTheBuild I was working up in Wyoming at the time and seen it on Craigslist. Ran when parked in a farm field in 1994. Of course, nothing worked but the transmission. I worked on it about an hour every day, and all day on Sunday's for 39 days. I drove it back to Tennessee, pulling my f150. It is definitely a project. Completed punch list while in Wyoming was new wiring harness, hydrovac, master cylinder, brake lines, rebuilt wheel cylinders, 100 gallon semi fuel cell, mechanical fuel pump, intake and carburetor, all fluids changed out, bench seat from a late 80s f100, swapped center split wheels for split ring wheels, repaired radiator, caulked the windshield, wiper blades, hei distributor plugs and wires. Currently, back home in Tennessee, my short list includes: all window and door seals, speedometer cable, 4 link rear suspension with airbags, heater core repair, tighten up the steering gearbox or rebuild it, new tires from Coker in Chattanooga,... It's a 2 ton truck, shortened frame, with a 2.5 ton split shift rear end. 4 speed manual trans. 3500 rpm at 55mph (I installed a tachometer). Edit: I bought it in August of 2019

@@RichardSuave7777 ... Wow!! That's awesome, especially the driving it back home to Tennessee! I bet that was a fun trip, sounds like you were doing the roadkill thing long before they made it cool!😁.. Sounds like you put in an extensive amount of work in already with still lots to do, then again are our projects ever done? Ive been working on mine for almost 2yrs and just recently decided to start a KZbin channel around things that make me happy, so now I am putting my builds/projects out for everyone to see and hopefully help someone get some ideas or inspire them to tackle a project for themselves! I appreciate your comment, I could talk all day about this stuff..
@RichardSuave77774 жыл бұрын
@@ChallengeTheBuild I had to get it running and driving post haste. I priced having it transported from there to the house and wasn't impressed with the costs involved. I've pondered doing videos, since there aren't many on these larger trucks. Roadkill inspired, definitely. The body has numerous colors from over the years, no bed, dually, a little surface rust and the lower rear cab corners need some love. I did take it down last month and had true duals installed. What do you film and edit with? I may go ahead and get started putting it online.
@ChallengeTheBuild4 жыл бұрын
@@RichardSuave7777 at the moment I am using my Samsung S8 phone, I did buy a budget shotgun mic, wide angle lens, and basic tripod all together spent less then 100 dollars. As far as editing I spent 35 dollars on power director editing software (still for my phone) overall I have been very happy with everything. I watched a bunch of "how to KZbin " before going for it, I can say for me personally I have enjoyed every aspect more than I thought I would, everything from filming, editing, posting, thumbnails, talking to everyone who watches, ect. ect., the entire process, I have already met some really cool people too. I can say it takes longer to do things because I always try and think about the best angles and what to say in order to bring the best value to the viewer. Overall for me, I love it and am going to continue building my channel as well as continue building cool stuff...

She’s a Beaut! Where’d you find a bed to fit the dualy?
@ChallengeTheBuild4 жыл бұрын
Its sorta a hodge-podge, its using original short bed sides (cut down a little shorter) the front panel is just a piece of sheet metal and the back is a tailgate welded in. The biggest change was in the rear fenders, the original fenders have been widened 3-4 inches to accommodate the dana 80 dually rear, the fenders need to be re-done due to oor workmanship. I bought the truck sight unseen and found a lot of shotty work..(unfortunately). Thanks for dropping a comment. 👍🤙 #ChallengeTheBuild

@jameslynch94214 жыл бұрын
It appears to be a custom frame, or did you start with something and modified?
@ChallengeTheBuild4 жыл бұрын
The frame the truck originally came on was pieced all together and all kinds of wonky...So just ended up scrapping it and started over, from the ground up, the only thing saved from the original frame was the rear end. And as they say, the rest is history...😬👍 Thanks for dropping a comment

Where would one find rear fenders/bed components for such a large truck?
@ChallengeTheBuild4 жыл бұрын
They are original fenders, but then widened 5-6 inches..They were like that when I bought the truck..I think they measure a total of 18 inches wide. Monsters..😬...thanks for commenting. 👍🤙
@giglepiezon03233 жыл бұрын
How did you get those bed fenders that are wide and round.
@ChallengeTheBuild3 жыл бұрын
They started out as stock stepside fenders for 55-59 trucks but then they were widened approximately 4 inches+/- (not very good either, tons of bondo👎) I would like to make new ones (eventually) but bought the truck, and they were already done. I Appreciate the comment 👍thanks.

Where did you get those rear fenders? That truck looks fucking wicked. I just picked up a 58 viking 60 getting it back on the road as we speak. But id buy another one just to make it look like a huge pickup like yours thats bad asss
@ChallengeTheBuild4 жыл бұрын
Well the fenders are stock fenders just widened 3-4 inches (unfortunately poorly done). When I bought the truck the fenders were already done, but they bother me a lot because of how poorly they're done and how many gallons of bondo on them so I will eventually redo them and learn sheet metal work to boot. The truck overall definitely has a really good look and love it. I appreciate the comments 👍 . I have been absent awhile but have been back at it the last week or so...this year has been interesting to say the least.. if you want and can follow me on either Instagram or Twitter to keep tabs on the build, links should be in the description. #ChallengeTheBuild 🤙
