Hi Robbie! I love seeing how happy you are when you get new plants that you love. That Woolly Grevillea is beautiful. It looks so good in the front. I wish it was hardy in lower zones, 7a, as I would love to grow one in a pot. You and Brent are making great progress on the backyard project. I'm really looking forward to seeing what all you do back there. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey Robbie 👋 How about a sunken area for the new patio space? It will definitely give you the closed-in, private feel you're going for. And the plants, fireplace, and containers will only add to the effect and complete the area, making it feel cozy. We sometimes tend to make our "garden rooms" feel cold or secluded when aiming for that private feel, if that makes sense 😆 But cozy is really the best feeling when it comes to a "garden room," IMO.

Love the grevillea! I am in Australia and grevilleas are my favourite plants. Its wonderful to hear that your hummingbirds love it. The prickly leaves help to protect them from bigger birds. As long as it has full sun and the occasional water it should do well in your climate.

I was going to ask if that plant was a succulent because it looked like it to me. Then, you gave an explanation of why it looks that way. Your pomegranate seed comment 😂. The changes are coming along. So exciting.

Your snapdragons should last for a few years, just cut them back when they start to look leggy, I use a good organic flowering fertilizer and they will come back.. There are so many varieties of the Grevillea’s. I was told no fertilizer or summer water once established. I love these plants. Happy Gardening. 🧡

It’s so exciting! I had a question- I know you and Brent are planning on moving. How do you go about in renovating/creating a garden that is temporary for you? I personally garden in my parents’ backyard, and it had made me feel like I’m doing everything for nothing, which made me very impatient (since I’m on a time limit) to complete the garden and to enjoy everything (since they take 3 years to leap!). Would love to hear your thoughts.

Snapdragons are not annual! They come back!
@jeanniecarroll9119
@jeanniecarroll9119 7 күн бұрын
Snapdragons are mostly short-lived perennial plants, though some species are annuals. The simple leaves are usually lance-shaped. The flowers are tubular, bilaterally symmetrical, and usually large with a closed liplike mouth that excludes most insects but can be forced open by strong bees, the main pollinators. This was posted on Wikipedia. Snap dragons are annual in my zone 6B.

Me too, Jeannie! I’m also in the US in a zone 6b and I agree that snapdragons don’t tolerate the winter low temperatures here at all. I think where Robbie is he could technically consider snapdragons a tender perennial but based on microclimates, humidity, and other factors he might not mention in this video I trust him when he says snapdragons are annual for him as well.
