@ 7:20 😭 OMG ! I pray mrs. Project wrong way was clearance and no where near in harms way ! She absolutely deserves a medal ( bronze or silver star ) , hazardous ( combat ) pay . Won’t comment on what / how but thanking the good lord everyone is alright . Last year I helped a couple move and we had to unload an engine and transmission . I was against the way they wanted to unload it but I kept quiet until the mrs. decided to try to put the brakes on a 700 pound or so load on wheels . I yelled “ get out of the way ! “ she escaped injury and was able to laugh it off slightly . My heart jumped out of my chest . Needless to say , I’m very over protective of women . Will try not to let it infect your channel . I know it was an accident and thankful your both unharmed ( especially the pretty mrs. Project wrong way ) , ( ok , the guy in the black shirt too 😘 got to show some love for him too ✌️) but I found myself coaching from the audience . After you shouted “ intercourses ! “ and I recovered from rolling in the aisles , I got serious and said “ lower the engine “ . Learned a long time ago that engine hoists are unstable when the engine and/or engine / trans are hoisted high up . Never move a hoist any more than needed and drop the load down ASAP . The legs on that hoist aren’t very wide so it’s not very stable . Yes , it’s designed to accommodate any chassis width and clear any suspension obstruction but it’s still dangerous as we found out . I’d say the video lived up to its name when the right leg caught the drivers front tire . Gee wiz , I think I’m the exact same way of a girl is there and I’m trying to be cordial to my appreciation for her presence . Rachael , please forgive Ben for his overly sternness , he loves you beyond words and is scared to death for any harm to come to you . I second that . Bless you both , love your channel ❤️💕 ( not just for the camera girl ) .

@poe34804 жыл бұрын
I have a '77 FJ40. I had it shipped here from Oklahoma about 25 years ago and do all my own work on it. I think that makes it even more entertaining to watch your videos, to know I'm not the only one who does stupid things. Like working on the cruiser in the driveway with a slight incline, without the wheels blocked (it was in gear, so I was good) but I was disconnecting the driveshaft. LOL!!! I wish I had that on video, I stopped it from rolling with my foot on the tire then laid there trying to figure out what to do next. And I have long hair, warn your wife if you get her on a creeper. Once you roll on your hair... stuck. I need to catch up on all the other videos! I found you because I need to get rid of my rear drum brakes. Can you tell me more about that axle you muscled in, in another video and why you swapped? Appreciate the entertainment, rock on!
@projectwrongway91274 жыл бұрын
I found a pair of axles from a 1978 Landcruiser, those are a more modern version and find splined, which just means they are a bit stronger. The front axle had disc brakes already, so I didn’t have to worry about a swap. The rear axle had drums on it, but when I was thinking about fixing the drums I just decided to do a disc swap instead. I was on the Internet and everyone said it would be easier to just go to disc. So I’ve been doing the swap and it’s not that bad, I should be filming today and hopefully get something out about all the parts that you need. And if I can do the swap anybody can so that should be helpful. Since you have a 77FJ 40 I’m guessing you already have Front disc brakes. So really all you have to do is the rear. And I will warn my wife about her hair, I hate to have it get stuck in a wheel LOL
@poe34804 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the response! If you are on FB, look me up. My 40 is my cover photo. I need to replace the manifold gasket, I drove it with the leak last summer and kind of enjoyed it being loud and backfiring, whenever I saw someone on the sidewalk I let off the gas and got a nice POP! :) If you ever venture through NE Ohio, you both definitely have a place to crash!

It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion, you want to look away but you cant.

William McMahon that’s what I said on Facebook earlier! Good assessment.

The best one yet. I still can't believe it collapsed on you and hacked up the FJ at the same time. What are the odds?!?
@projectwrongway91275 жыл бұрын
Breck Light right?! I was asked if I staged this, I had to take the question as a compliment. I’m naturally this bad, no staging necessary.

This seems like an odd mix of a DIY engine pull and an AMRAP CrossFit workout.

Michael Panella I recommend using a preworkout supplement before doing any type of automotive work. Whatever gets you within an inch of a heart attack, and then back it off just a touch. It helps when things take a bit more finesse.

OH MY GOSH! Just when I think you couldn't do anything dumber, you go and do this, AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF! Mission accomplished, you got the motor and transmission out just like you said you would. Ben, dude, be careful, maybe get some help so you don't kill your wife in the process. I could totally see things unfolding the way they did moments before they happened. But that's what keeps us loyal viewers coming back for more. Keep up the...work. Lol good job man.
