Is there a throttle body and intake manifold that you can use to keep from having to put a hood scoop on the hood? Even if you loose a couple of horses it wouldn't hurt. It has plenty of Torque and HP. It would be worth a shot to try to make one work.

I grew up glued to every page of Popular Hot Rodding and watched Project X's every move. I had pictures all over my room of the 57. This car is why I had my 57 for almost 50 years and why it looks like it does today (with a huffer). When I went to SEMA 2 years ago, I wanted to cry when I saw it there all helpless under those damn electric lights. A big ugly box was under the hood, and I could not stand to be next to it. It was like running into an ex who's changed completely for the worse. It was so sad I posted a KZbin short on how upset I was. Then God sent it to you, bless you, my son. May every light be green on your journey through life. Would love to get a photo of both 57s together, it would be a cool shot for Hotrod

In the latest print issue of Hot Rod on the back page John has an article entitled "With a little help from my Friends" where he thanks you for all the work on this . I wanna thank you too ! He also states "it's the engine that should have been put in it two years ago" I couldn't agree more , really nice to see two of the coolest guys working together . thanks to both of you !

I have been watching Project X since I was young when it first hit the magazines, good to see it back with a great sounding BBC. When I heard it was going electric that was a sad day, I know electric cars can be fast but that was like neutering Project X. It's all about the sounds, smells and the great look, thank goodness it's back as a real hot rod. And when I say sounds it's not from a big stereo to make it sound like it has an engine, nice work guys.

I agree about the sound, but I still rather see older cars on the road with an electric drivetrain then rotting away with an internal combustion engine engine or restored but rarely driven.

Grab some sanding disks and do some OLD-R Hotrodding and try your hand at overlapping circular jeweling/engine turning/ Damascening on that center piece. You know, the overlapping circular patterns on old hot rodding tin, that makes it look cool. Hold the black vinyl wrap. If the jeweling turns out like poo poo, then cover with vinyl. Would be a perfect eye-catcher for the interior of Proj-X. I picked up 4 interior panels for my 56 210 that had been Engine Turned/Jeweled from Woody's TriFive Supply in Lawrenceberg Indiana. Each one was perfect and bolted perfectly in place. Hand made Alum panels, from Woody's.

I followed along with the Popular Hot Rodding issues when I got my 1957 210 in 1974. The original 283 was already gone when I purchased my car, it now had a 302 CID motor. Reading the front pad on the passenger side of the block it had engine code MO. A few years later learned it was a 1967 Z28 engine. Learned a lot about engines and working on cars myself from that car. Sadly it was totaled sitting in the front yard by a guy high on meth. He was traveling over 90 plus MPH down the dead end road in a stolen pickup and lost control, went thru 3 neighbors front yards and hit my 57. Pushed it thru my other neighbors front yard into a utility pole. It was now about as long as a Smart car. Transmission broke the bell housing off the back of the engine block, cracking it and breaking off the mount pads. Well I still have the instrument cluster and hood rockets, rest went to the scrap yard. So seeing Lucky and John return Project X to an engine powered hot rod has brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for doing the Right Thing !

I was a MTOD member since the beginning and magazine subscriber before that. I canceled MTOD a few months after Project X was converted to electric because it really seemed like Discovery was ruining the MotorTrend I grew up with on so many different fronts, across programs and content. I'm grateful for this Project X update on your channel because maybe it's an indicator that not all is lost over there.

For rims I really like the Cragar SS's but running a close second is the American Racing Salt Flat Specials. The current rims on my 1967 Mercury Cougar are Ultra 454 Diamonds they where on the car when I bought it but they have been out of production for a very long time so I've been told. So for a spare I'm thinking of getting a Salt Flat. And as finding a place to eat in Southern California IMO there is only one place and that's In-N-Out Burger. 6=8.

I am shocked, sir; SHOCKED! That the big secret was Project X!😂 It's sooo good that Project X is back to normal. Was the electric motor the shortest tenure of any powerplant in this icon? It was an interesting experiment, but far too soon, given the reborn ICE horsepower wars. It's really cool that you're able to put your own stamp on this legendary car, especially being part of its awesome fossil fuel resurrection! Congrats, Lucky, on an incredible build on this million dollar paragon of Hot Rod history! Have a good weekend, bud! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
