Keep up the great work. Some of the things you are describing have been on my mind for years and I never tried them now I'm ready to

Definitely try it! As far as I can see it should make the carburetor function far better....but that is what we will find out on the flow bench 😁

One might knot be able to buy expensive things, but one can hand craft them 😉

Lots more to do with this experimentation! Be sure to watch and give a comment on Joseph Nowak's video as well! It is due to his help that this content is possible 😁

There are defenatly some outside the box thinking that has needed to happen 😂 I did end up J&B welding the squirter into place....but I came up with a way to still adjust it! 😃

Many many years ago, there was a bloke in Darwin who used to make 900cfm Holleys out of 780 CFM vac secondary model 3310. He had a flow bench with a 5 hp 3 phase motor driving an 8-71 blower as an air pump. It drew air through intakes and blew air through exhausts. It easily held 20" of water (1.5"Hg) through a 351 4v Cleveland head with 1 " of valve lift. He used Devcon epoxy because JB Weld didn't exist then. He did similar mods to the air bleeds. Downleg discharge nozzles were used Back then you could get .020" thick throttle plates and the throttle shafts were milled down and the throttle plates were carefully MIG'ed in. The whole top of the intake shroud was milled out and hand finished right to the top. All the inner surfaces were polished down to metal polish finish. He maintained never making the venturis bigger because that was where the torque was made. The flow gave the top end ability. There were about 10 of them made. They were called the "Crawforettor" after the bloke who made them. These carbs incredibly livened up small block Chevies, Mopar and Fords. This same bloke made exhaust tangs for exhaust ports on 4V Clevelands back in 1979, pre G&R.

There are a lot more advancements in the carburetor world yet to be mass produced to make then work even better! Carburetors have way more potential than efi and are cheaper 😁

I'm working on a 750 double pumper that I'm doing something very similar. Making a radiused top with JB weld. Mine has down leg boosters so I don't have to build it up as much. If you got a social media I'll send you some pictures

Also what about installing a small brass tube over each factory air bleed hole to use as a riser and install your restrictor in the top of that? Seems like less modification and won't interfere with the air cleaner mounting flange

I have an email! newguysgarage@gmail.com Ya send some pictures, would be sweet to see what you got going! Also the tube idea I could probably make work for step two....but I want to give myself plenty of room for step 3 so moving them now just means less work once I get to that point 🙂 .....and doing crazy stuff like relocating the airbeeds to a place I never seen them located before makes for good content 😂
