Nice trip guys. The turtle that you saw on the road is not Caretta Caretta, it is just a norml land turtle. Caretta Caretta is a sea turtle. They live in the sea. They are larger than 1m and havier than 150 kg. They come to shore only to lay eggs on specific period of the year on exactly specific place which is the place they born. That is so interesting. They keep the place they born in their mind and after years they turn back to exacly same place to give a birth. So you can not see Caretta Caretta anyother place on earth. Patara beach is free. You dont have to pay to see Patara beach. But one part of the beach is a part of the antient city only that part is not free. I thınk you accidentally enter the open air museum. Normally you dont need to pay for Patara beach.
