Indeed, growing up with those old rotary dial phones was quite enjoyable. As a child, I had one of those picture viewer toys, and I loved it. It's difficult to put the feeling into words when seeing all these old toys. Thanks for the memory.

In 1990 St Petersburg, pretty much everyone had buttons instead of the dial on their home phones already. But they were still corded. I have seen a few cars with warless phones at the time, but like there was still a cord connected to the car's phone unit. And omg i just remembered that it was considered very cool to have Chinese ceramic cup sets in those wardrobes lol

Justin is surprised by some stuff which are actually common not only in Russia, but in Europe as well, at least in parts of it. Makes me think there are actually so many differences between Europe/Russia on the one side, and Far East/Australia on the other! In your previous video he was shocked about the windows in the flat, but they’re not just typical in Russia, in Europe they’re totally normal 😂 same for the trolleybus. So I guess he was so surprised because you don’t have them in Australia? So interesting. The old phone, I’m from the 90s and yes that phone it’s vintage also from me, but I do know what it is and how it works 😅

@@AndreiBerezin Not really - I flew to Novosibirsk for refueling between Irkutsk and Moscow in 1988. Novosibirsk was already an impressively modern sight from the air. I was doing a safety tour of Siberian factories and got as far north as Bratsk. I had fun too and made it out to Baikal and saw ethnic entertainment from the Buryats and other northern peoples. In Canada , I had grown up in Alberta, north west of Calgary within view of the spectacular Rocky Mountains. So , I was able to cope with the temperatures in Siberia in May. Calgary, as well as being an increasingly desirable destination is the gateway to Banff National Park westbound and the hoodoos of the Drumheller badlands south. There is the Calgary Stampede as well as a mountain winter wind called the Chinook, sometimes bringing a mock Spring with temperatures soaring for a few days before returning to winter. It's quite a place and I believe that you would enjoy it. Calgary's not my city, I live in Vancouver BC, also worth visiting and en route to Calgary. I enjoyed this content and hope the creators get to visit Canada. 4:39

I am 78 and live in the USA. Most of the things in that museum I used growing up like the dial telephone. Later we graduated to push button phones. Tube type TVs. One time in college I was to find TVs to replace the ones in our lounge. I tried without success to convince the student council to go with color TVs but they couldn't justify the need even though there was a surplus of money so we got new B&W TVs.
