I use Aquarian cymbal springs to stop my cymbals from spinning. I also use them on my acoustic setup as well.

Thanks alot for another great video! You really are a pioneer in this field and I would not have the DIY kit that I have today if not for your videos. Much appreciated!

Thanks for answering my question and showing the trigger settings! I'm new to e-drums and actually didn't notice the TD17 can customize the rim and bow settings. I was looking for that, but didn't know where to find it. So thank you! Definitely helped!

Hey Joven. Can you please do a video explaining the different zones 1,2,3 on cymbal triggers? Edge, bow, bell, choke etc.. and the A2E requirements for each. Then how these would be connected to module inputs, crash, ride, ride bell? And lastly stereo versus mono cables. Really appreciate your channel

When I bought my new kit I also bought an iron Cobra speed Cobra and the plastic beaders that come on the Tama are the best. I've had no trouble with them yet and I'm about to put a patch on there to protect it but I seem to have gotten the best results from that set of beaters
@ProjectBeats_3 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah thats a good size/shape beater for mesh heads. Altho I’d still use a patch but that one’s perfect

Thank you very much for the great videos and advices. This helped me a lot with my own cymbals. Did you do anything to stop or soften the vibration of the low volume cymbals? When will we see a video for the v3 3zone cymbal with the switch on the bottom? Can't wait to get started! Keep it up, this is some really awesome work!

The drum brains has almost all one setting called crosstalk , search it to your brain. This setting can cross over the two or three signals of two or more triggers that read vibrations too close eachother and you can avoid the two or three signals complexed between them. It's working nice with snare head as example and rim sensor .Check it! I think you must put something like a small pillow inside the snare to avoid ringing.Nice huge explanation video dude !! Take care man stay safe!!

Yeah I tried every setting in the module man. Trigger system has to be better.

I’m surprised how few people actually put some sort of a dampening phone inside the bottom portion of their shells. That was the very first thing that I thought of when trying to minimize the acoustic noise while increasing or improving trigger response

Love your videos! I'm new to hybrid drumming so this might be a basic question, but how are you able to trigger four drums and all of those cymbals with that module? Doesn't it have only four trigger inputs? Thank you!! 🙏🏼
@ProjectBeats_3 жыл бұрын
TD17 has 8 in plus 2 aux, if I’m not wrong. Not looking at it atm 😅 And you can split some toms to add more cymbals/drum if you like. A lot more involved to doing that but yeah.

I've had trouble with my bell piezo triggering. It only triggers when I strike a hot spot over the main goedrum trigger box.

Hey Joven. So glad I found your channel and content. I’m based in UK and currently doing my own A2E conversion. Your working knowledge is so helpful. I was really interested watch and listen to your recent review of goedrum under bell trigger and their 360 membrane and trigger box. Plus I was looking at their edge rim but so glad you noticed the splitting. Your recommended solution great. I wondered if you’ve considered or tried reinforced rubber edging? This might give more durability and last longer not just cymbals but I’m thinking snare for rim shots? What are your thought? Overkill or something you might test? Thank you and enjoy celebrating festivities this December whatever your faith. Stay safe and well and keep the edrum insights coming into 2021 and beyond!

Hey! Thanks! For the cymbals I think it’s best to just go for the industrial type u-rubber ring. They last a long time. Mine’s still intact after about 2 years of abuse. And they are cheaper than goedrum’s rubber rim. I dont think it’s worth it to reinforce. For the snare it’s just better to invest in the ones made for snare.

Love your channel and content and character hope you and your wife and family stay safe and I got some insight for you , one being I used fish tank tubing instead of a rubber ring it’s invisible and works well but if you like the rubber go with r drums ring because pin techs is way too thick and raises up too high third I bought an old Roland kick drum tower trigger and mounted it inside the kick shell and cut a hole in the Mylar head and now the kick trigger is perfect also someone once said for the crash cymbals ( not the ride ) you can mount the trigger on the cymbal stand instead of on the cymbals then you don’t have to worry about the piezo and input jacks breaking and there’s no cords hanging from the cymbal either let me know your thoughts man

Thanks bro! Hope you guys are doing great. 1. I think I would still prefer drum rim specific rubber ring. I haven’t ordered yet coz there’s a minimum amount when ordering fr drumtec to singapore. Im still rotating the ones I have 😅 2. Ive seen this before! Long before I started, doing anything edrum related. I think it’s a smart thing to do. Especially if you have it already or can get cheap. Roland pads will always be more accurate than diy builds, plus they feel great. Not the basic rubber kick pads tho. 3. I don’t think it would be very effective. Coz if you try to hit the crash opposite side of the trigger box. The crash and edge becomes too faint already. So I would think the dynamics will be ineffective/nonexistent if you have the trigger on a stand. Ive seen stand mounted bell trigger tho. But are now discontinued. Magnatrack if you want to check them.

Do you have a reso head on your bass drum? I want to do my A2E but my kick is 22 inch so i think it would be lots of resonant. Is it better to put off reso heads from snare, bass, and toms?
@ProjectBeats_3 жыл бұрын
I have reso on the whole kit, I removed the snare wires tho, it kinda got annoying. But then my whole kit is very shallow so it doesnt ring out a lot. (Tama Clubjam) If you need the volume down, you can try stuffing the inside. If it doesn’t work for the kick you can consider using black mesh reso in front or just removing the reso altogether.

Is a good module really necessary? I would just want to convert trigger signal to MIDI so that I can trigger Superior Drummer 3. If I can tune velocity levels in SD3, what's the purpose of having an expensive drum module?
@ProjectBeats_3 жыл бұрын
If you don’t need to use the module and will just be using sd3. Look at eDRUMin. If you just need a basic module used TD9 on ebay will do the job.

Hey man i need you rn. I made a coversion but the stereo socket i bought was 3.35mm. so i bought an adapter only to find out it was a baby adaptor of 3.35 mm to 6.5 mm but mono. So if i plugged in my edrum cables to that mono adapter, would it affect how it sounds when i plug in my headset to the module?
@ProjectBeats_2 жыл бұрын
If you’re connecting to the pads you’d just get a single zone drum pad. Wont affect what you hear but what you can play. 2zone-tom would just get you added rim sound that you can change to say like cowbell rim or something. If you mean mono headphone put then you’d just get mono sound to your earphones. But that depends if you have 2 zone piezo setup installed.
@anon60982 жыл бұрын
@@ProjectBeats_ oh so you mean its okay if my stereo socket from the sensor going to the tom cable then to the module, it wont affect my in-ear headset? Wow okay thank you. I was very worried. Althoug i still bought additional stereo baby adapter. The reason i needed an adapter was that because the stereo socket that i bought was 3.35mm instead of the supposed to be 6.35 mm meant for the snake cables.
@anon60982 жыл бұрын
Hey man. So im using a 3 pin stereo socket. Where should i solder the piezo when its for tom? The position goes like this. The 1st pin near the socket hole, 2nd pin in the middle and 3rd im the butt part of the socket
