As I can emphasize in French, it is a projector and in French, on it is a Pathe newsreel. In the middle of it, the technics are not limited to the size and length of the film reel alone, there's a bunch of corks that snap the filmreel to the projector and a bunch of easy to put on rollers that get the film moving on and on to the whole picture.
