I still rewatch this every other day. Ruina was fun, and Limbus/LCB is looking great so far, but I can't help but still return to LC once in a while. I just find the gameplay and the unique story structure in LC very charming, especially considering PM made it with the limited budget they had after the failed Kickstarter. They managed to incorporated gameplay mechanics into the story in such a perfect way that makes it very easy to immersed yourself into Ayin's way of thinking and put yourself in his shoes, since the guy is mentioned a lot of time as being elusive and hard to read. It make sense that the only way we could understand him is by getting into his way of thinking and experiencing his thoughts directly. Even minor details like the Cognitive Filter tells us a lot about Ayin's character, or the passing comment a lot of Sephirah made on how the manager never really exercise his authority. It may seems like just a meta comment on the art style and silent protagonist, but considering how Ayin is shown in flashback and the way Day 46-50 A(s) acts this is most likely just who he is. He needs the filter because he is someone with an avoidance issue and can't see atrocities or people dying with the full knowledge that he was involced in it without breaking down. He just follow along with the Sephirahs quest without any hesistation it because he was never really a leader type of person, he lacks an ambition or will of his own and much rather follow someone who could "guide" him as he's not really confident with himself. Despite that, he trully wished he could grow as a better person, as Angela noted in (I think) Day 4. It's why he learned the virtues from the Sephirah, faced himself, and managed to break the cycle as a way to open the door for everyone else. Even if you don't like Ayin, you have to admit LC's story structure is truly one of a kind and I wished we had more games with these unorthodox method of story telling.

Amazing summary! I agree with every word of yours. I spoiled all the plot by reading it on a fan wiki and watching it on YT, as I care more about the narrative rather than tedious gameplay in such types of games, and after finishing LC's story... I actually want to give the game shot despite the fact that I usually despise such micromanagements simulators. The game's a miracle.

It also kinda makes sense lore-wise. For most other Days (except Day 10 start) and Sephirah dialogues, the cognition filter's active. The prime candidates for a "remake" would be Day 50 (X and A are fully synchronized, can turn off the filter) and the 100% end, which we already got in LoR. Also, imagine finally finishing Day 49, clicking "Proceed to next day", then seeing this video instead of the expected story section... Edit: just noticed PM's cheeky capitalization of "You are A (giant)". Seriously, PM should add a disclaimer for new players to steer away from their channel to avoid spoilers.

It's wonderful that even with the ending the game presents you or this, the feeling you get from it remains the same, the final release from an endless cycle and moving on to something greater. I know Angela vehemently insists Ayin did everything for his own selfish desire to finish the project, I like to think every single sephirah and its supression changed something in him along the way and very much like it was during the final few days, it was them who gave him all the answers he needed and that he's taken the final step, not just for him, not for Carmen, but for all of them as well.

На счет ролика - хорошо передан этот дух завершения бесконечно повторяющегося цикла. Из минусов отмечу только сам переход от осколков (Авель, за твоё здоровье подниму бокал с шампанским) к самому Айну. В игре он был словно вырванный из тьмы, а в ролике плавно и скользяще из темноты. Атмосферно показана технология преобразование комнаты (очень хотелось бы увидеть Авеля, Авраама и Адама с подобной властью изменения формы комнаты своими угасшими рассудками). В первые годы мне всегда казалось, что Айн просто молчаливый, мёртвый внутри и больше гениальная машина разума, чем чувств. Полагаю, так и было до того, как Кармен воплотила свет в душе черно-белого первооткрывателя аномалий. Кстати о мертвых внутри, вы видели какая милая прическа была у Джованни?! Довольная мордочка Мишель будет не раз появляться в качестве аватарки в том же Твиттере. О моменте с ванной можно говорить очень долго. Ванна вовсе всегда выглядела почти именно так - в полном нигде и полная крови. Это создает свое впечатление на людей. Что бы еще добавить? Тот факт, что у Айна на письменном столике все еще есть резинка с красной головой мишки (хорошее обоснование связи Кармен с ЮРией. Кто знает, может они даже были знакомы? Кто знает? Мы не знаем. Зато Муны знают.) Так же нравиться как тут поработали со звуком. Уже слова кончаются... В любом случае, я очень благодарен ProjectMoon за всё из творчество. Так же хочу сказать вам "Спасибо" от всей нашей Википедии. Мы будем с нетерпением ожидать ваши будущие проекты. I really hope that someday, ProjectMoon would have the time to try and remaster Lobotomy Corporation. It's already good enough, but with the current state of the developers I just wish to see what a "modernized" look of the game would be. Even if it was just a few minor tweaks just to fit with the current narrative of the series.

I don't understand why some people love Roland but hating Ayin, they're in a sense, the same after all. On one side one of the strongest person in the city, on the other side one of the smartest on the city. Both knows that the world and those within it is broken and didn't do anything, after all there's nothing to be done. Both fall in love to a woman who hold hope for this world. And both lose all of it. One unleashed its wrath upon the world in the name of vengeance. One unleashed its sorrow upon its work to end it all. I wish that he will be back at least one last time in the future, perhaps just to see what kind of forest will his daughter birth open this world.

@@MegaLpso He's both not a good guy and also one of the best people in the city at the same time, that's what makes him an interesting character. He got roped into Carmen's plan despite not fully believing it (rather just following her), and finished it in her stead despite committing crimes against humanity in the process. On top of that, he was clearly (and understandably) a broken man by the end of it, yet he still continued on to finish the seed of light, which would have given humanity the chance to fix the entirely world that was fucked up enough to necessitate such an act in the first place. If you compare Angela and Roland, who's stories are about dealing with trauma through vengeance with no end goal, to Ayin, who dealt with trauma by knowingly becoming an unforgivable villain to save humanity, it's hard to say Ayin is a worse guy than them at least.

There's a lot of character who help people, do justice or fight evil in the series, but in the end they do it for their own selfish reasons, and they will literally kill anyone who stand on their ways. By our standards he may seems evil, but by the city standard? He is quite average in what he do. In the city, those who not feel joy in the act of cruelty is already look like a saint.

@@itsaskullie well as you say Ayin refuse to see Angela, in his eye, Ayin see Angela like how Roland see the puppet that are created using his wife body, it was not his wife, just puppet. It was robot he just createdwith an advance AI, an AI he created too, no wonder he can't see her as an individual, plus with the loop, he won't notice the change in her behaviors, he can't notice that in the span of thousands years the robot he created has become sentient. The one time he notice that she actually have emotions is when he got betrayed, the first time she actually smile, alas, he got no chance to say anything before he dies. Btw Roland's rampage to everyone with the slightest suspicion to his wife death, which means there's probably a good guy in that group.

스토리상으론 다들 카르멘을 보고 따른건데 아무래도 플레이어 입장이다보니 개인적으론 아인이란 캐릭터 서사가 더 마음에 드는게 어쩔수없어서 후속작에서도 자주 나오면 좋겠다

결국 끝맺음을 맺은것은 아인이며 아인도 처음 시작은 카르멘의 유지를 잇는 것이었지만 그 끝은 진정으로 인간이 품고 있는 빛의 씨앗을 발현하길 바랬다는 것을 보면 진짜 인간찬가 그 자체임.
