This song holds a special place in my heart. I read some analyses and figured out that one of the messages of Ishmael's chapter was that there's no one thing that defines the meaning of your life, whether it be fitting a mold or something imposed by other people. That was a message I *really* needed to hear then, and it helped me feel better from a long period of yelling at myself.

Canto 5 helped me as well, 4 started the path of letting go of the bitter, toxic past to free myself, to be my ideal self while 5 and Ishmael showed me it's the right path. They have a bunch of gay energy(tm) moments in the Canto. @@sporperino Funnily enough, the key art used in Ish's flashback to when Queequeq pulled her out of a whale corpse she'd slipped into (which is how they first really talked to each other) is similar to a later image of Heathcliff pulling Ishmael out of the Pallid Whale's membranification, which has naturally fueled Heathcliff/Ishmael and thus people argue she might be bi, but eh, that kind of stuff is pretty up in the air in all of PM's works.

There are many things that makes Mili great but i'm going to say 3 i think. 1) The instrumental compositions are just mind blowing. 2) The vocalist(s) are the epitome of being on point with such a great range (pitch) in each and every single one of their song that has been done until now. I finally got through the effin' middle finger and FINALLY get to finish this Canto today. God I hold off on so many Limbus content for months just to not get spoiled especially the dungeon's end theme. WORTH IT, THE LAST PART OF THE DUNGEON IS JUST *chef's kiss* BYOTIFUL. Glad I hold off that long Anyway almost forgot to mention something that I had in mind hearing this for the first time, love the dolphin-like sounds so much

@@bullet3417 see now I joined the party late and kept underestimating the power of using shards to exchange for good cards which means I kept getting stuck at Spicebush Dongbaek, Ricardo, the Terrible Trio of Canto V, and the final boss fight of Canto VI purely because i did not have the right IDs to go up against them and it became just a constant cycle of chucking different combinations at the boss until they died LOL now that I have some better IDs i'm getting the hang of it!! i simply did not have the clashing power/status ailments necessary to progress for a time

So I have started limbus late. Im mostly f2p other than getting limbus passes to support PM. I have avoided almost every spoiler besides like. Mirror dungeon content and intervallos at times. So far, after beating CANTO V yesterday, this song (out of the mili ones so far) hit me the hardest. The fight was easy imo [Especially after those damned hair coupons had me stumped for a few hours] and I actually think that it helped. Part of my mind resonated with Ishmael throughout the chapter. I grew to despise ahab with a burning passion, especially when it was revealed she had no plans for any of the crew to live besides her. That fire to just see Ahab torn to pieces drove me on. And like Ishamel, it became a reckless compulsion. When the lyrics kicked in. I was surprised, because for me the second phase had begun and that line was uttered "The fault lies with you, Ishamel" That alone snapped me out of my own bloodlust. Cause in a sense, Ahab was right. It was Ishmael's fault her obsession dragged her so far down. Her fault that let it define her. But at same time. That was the only thing Ishmael was at fault for. When the story ended. I listened to the credits song. So far, the only Cantos whos credits i didnt skip are Yi-Sangs and This one. Yet only V has made me actually cry. Such a beautiful story

Canto V is being my favorite chapter so far and Compass was the cherry on the top for me. This song is just so different to every Mili song yet so beautiful and intriguing as always. It's hard for me to express in words the feelings this song conveys from start to finish, Canto V and this song are a real rollercoaster of emotions for me. Thank you so much P-moon and Mili for making this possible. And to everyone; remember that in the end, you're the captain of your own ship :)
