That's a gear reduction design, and it's what most manufacturers use today. It has quite a mechanical advantage that makes it superior to a conventional design. Simple and effective

I've always wanted a little Chrysler A-body. 67-69 318 Barracuda would be my pick to hop up a bit and use as a weekend cruiser. An A Body with slapper bars and cherry bombs and a bit of cam chop is just super cool.

A few of the vehicles were ones he purchased and were sort of the feature vehicle for his Friday Coffee Walk videos like the Dodge armored truck or the Toyota Dually. When he purchased them he expected to flip them easily or at least he really talked them up in the videos as if they would sell quickly. Some of the others were vehicles that came in a lot where he had to take the bad to get the good, that is especially true on the RVs. Around 100 of the cars were actually on the property where they were auctioned when he purchased or leased that property, those are probably the ones that were in the worst shape.

When I moved to Denver in ‘78 I worked at a place called RV Specialties, where we built mini truck conversions like that Toyota with the crew cab and dually bed with fiberglass extra cabs and fenders. Flatbeds and occasional chassis mount campers. The dual rims were welded together and a guy would mount the tires by hand. The interior looks the same as on ours. The owner liked his nose candy and eventually lost his company. Would be interesting to see if it was like ours; I haven’t seen one here in at least 20 years

Some of those cars sold at auction likely should've been put for online sale. Could've had that 73 Challenger or 68 Charger for a few months and likely got 5-10k more. Some absolute bargains.

Looking at this sale from "100 feet away" I'm not sure what held it back - there was a strong thunderstorm the day before, and it was scheduled on the same weekend as the Pate swap meet, both of which could have kept people away. However it was well advertised, and put on by Vanderbrink who is a dedicated collector car auctioneer, and there was online bidding, so more people did bid than just the bidders on site

I recall seeing a brand new Toyota pick up with that custom made extended cab back in 1981. It was at a dealership in Vancouver BC., although the one shown here is from the 1970s. In the late 70s and early 80s Datsun was the only make to offer a compact truck with an extended cab which was built at their own factory.

@mr.goodpliers6988
@mr.goodpliers6988 Жыл бұрын
For sake of time, and respect - too many people bend the hoods or hinges when they force them. Most of these types have no idea what they're doing, and no interest in buying the vehicles anyway. If it's a car I'm actually considering buying, I'll check it out, but I lube the hinges and work them down to avoid ruining parts on a car I don't own
