I’ve just gotten into the Pico myself! Very cool project.

This is amazing. Once this project reaches a lvl where it can emulate a 512k with disk writing, and or even a Plus with 4MB (not sure about pico specs actually) this would be really cool.

Honestly it's thanks to the help of folks in our community that I'm able to do it at all. Being able to pull someone aside, show them a design, let them run a sanity check on it before sending it to manufacture has saved me countless times.

The PI Pico's I get have USB C them. The "Purple" PICO clones have 4MB and 16 MB Flash storage as well. Might be good for disk images.

Thank you for the sub! to my knowledge, the Pico2 has the pin out… so in theory, it should be a drop in replacement.

Pretty cool. Just an idea, add a USB hub and two USB A ports to the board and then it would be a ready to use solution :) There are some extremely cheap modules that could fit really well.

How do you do 512k? Didn’t think the pico had the RAM for that?
@RonsCompVids5 ай бұрын
I was certain I had read that 512K was possible through a configuration change… but yes, the Pico does have a physical RAM limitation lower than that.

got the suggested OTG hub but cannot get the keyboard or mouse to work. Any tricks to get it working ?
@RonsCompVids22 күн бұрын
Just to verify, it’s plugged directly into the Pi Pico, and not into the VGA board?
@LeoDaddy21 күн бұрын
@@RonsCompVids correct. I finally fixed it. I added power mod to the OTG hub and now everything works. I plugged the hub into the pico directly.

MacPaint won't work, but MacDraw does, in case you just want to draw... 🙂

It’s true. MacPaint requires the disk that it’s running from to be writeable.
