What I realy like to make with random pieces of embroidery are pockets (patch pockets). It's usually fairly quick to do, they're practical as well as decorative, and you can proudly bring your work with you either on a bag or a garment. And we all know clothing nowadays tend to lack pockets...

Could you add Twiddlemuffs to your list? More and more elderly people are suffering with alzheimers and these muffs are known to bring comfort.

Thank you for the great ideas, especially the little hoops and bags! Sometimes it's just hard to figure out simple uses after finishing the embroidery. I'm so glad you have lots of other videos we can watch again for inspiration. ❤

I have a wing back chair that I’ve gathered fabric to make repair… your first finish in Friday motivated me to get it done. With new cover my two chairs match and look amazing. Repairs hand stitched with running stitch and blanket stitch. I also had two slow stitch vessels to finish … today I’m putting finishing touches on the last one. Feels wonderful. Thanks for some needed motivation. 💖

Sarah’s video on mounting embroidery pieces is a MASTERCLASS…. It has helped me (many times) to properly finish my work… if you have a piece close to your heart I’d highly recommend this video as it will do your work justice… Thank you Sarah! Lx

Your books are absolutely gorgeous!!! and very inspirational!! I have been working on some Christmas ornament embroidery that I found in my stash from the 80's. I was pregnant with my son and remember buying them and due to pregnancy complications I never got around to doing them. They were on sale when I bought them for $1.44!!!! The embroidery thread was all there plus the print along with a frame!!! Talk about a great deal!!! LOL!! I haven't decided whether to turn it into a small book or ornaments!! My grandsons (my son's two boys) were over (aged 3&4) and they loved to touch/running their little fingers over them so perhaps a book it will be.

Thank you so much for the inspiration, Sarah! After watching your first Finish It Friday video, I raided my stash, then found and finished a lovely kit that I purchased in York nearly 30 years ago. It is now framed where I can see it each day. Next up is a finished piece of hardanger, also from decades ago. I think it may make a lovely book cover as you’ve demonstrated here. 😊

When I saw the embroidered napkins I automatically thought of bread-basket liners. I do have a few of them already but I thought it was an idea to share. I have a shoe-box half full of embroideries to be made into things so I'll pick something to do this week. Thanks

Wonderful ideas. I have a couple smaller (4x6) needlepoints (as we call them in the US) I stitched almost 10 years ago! I will turn one of them into a book cover for a note book, and the other one into the top of a small cardboard box.

I have some of those mini display easels on various shelves. I mount random small embroideries onto mount board and then display them on the easels. Every so often I have a change around about what's on display and what's in the drawer.

Hello Sarah! Recently, I have been thrifting cotton shower curtains to convert to aprons. I have taken some of my "practice" embroidery and added them to the front of the aprons. I just finished a panda on an apron for my daughter. 🐼 I am cooking up an idea of creating a themed quilt, "The Story of Us." I'm planning small motifs that are reminders of 36 years together as a married couple and family. So far, I've come up with mountains (our honeymoon), coffee (my husband's favorite), tea (my favorite) and dachshund dog (we have had them for pets for years and years). I'm trying to imagine how I want to take these small motifs, incorporate one to a small quilt block, then scatter each tiny block throughout the pattern, ultimately, creating my very first quilt. It's ambitious and I don't really have a timeline as of yet. But I am enjoying the dreaming and planning for it. 🥰 All the best! and Greetings from St. Louis, Missouri, USA! ~Kelly

If you're looking for a slow stitch type project that ends up being 'useful' while still being no-stress my I suggest scrap washcloths (think Sashiko style but not as exacting) and visible mending on night cloths, you just fold over old dish towels and add at least enough stitches to stabilize the layers then have fun, or visible mending, stain covering or just decorating cleaning/play cloths (work a couple sizes up on thrifted clothing for children so you're not racing growth spurts!) I like this to try small bits of different techniques that look interesting but not enough to do a whole proper project. edit - the washcloths are more inline was traditional Zokin than Sashiko

I went on a retreat in 2000. We got a Halloween boot to embroider. I have been looking at it. So your challenge is accepted. I will finish it. It may take a few weeks. It was a big project. Then I will make it into a wall hanging. Do you think I will get it done in time e for Halloween?
