Fun fact I have no idea if somebody already mentioned in the comments, but after episode 2 Roy (Yellow's father) appears on every single episode, hidden in the background, _always watching._ -Episode 3: Between the cult when they start singing about Malcolm -Episode 4: In a corner of the room when Red is sitting alone at the table -Episode 5: Above the set when Duck makes the camera fall -Episode 6: Three times during the Dreams song (sitting at the theater, in the phone box thing and peeking at the window while Yellow sinks in oil) Also he gets credited at the end of the credits from that point as well

Nice, didn't expect you to watch this but I'm glad you checked it out! This is one of those shows that uses the "show don't tell" approach to the arts that you don't see as much of in the modern era anymore. It's not so much that there's a singular "correct" meaning to the story or the episodes, but rather it's left intentionally vague to encourage your own - ahem - creativity in coming up with an interpretation or thoughts on the themes and ideas presented. I love how it uses shock and horror themes to zap your brain awake without relying on them too heavily for edge value. It was great watching you experience this, hope to maybe see you watch the TV series in this future as well!
@backpack_hermit2510 ай бұрын
Matpat did a couple theories on this show, while there are many valid theories, his DHMIS videos were incredibly well done and held a lot of weight. The basic story we got if you don’t feel like watching them is, Red guy was an aspiring kids entertainer without a budget, yellow guys dad, Roy, helped him out with sponsorship, filling their kids shows with props to make it feel lively. But it was all product placement for Roy, who also had a dual motivation of tormenting his son (a news article interview with the characters of the show stated he will make his son suffer basically and that yellow guy has a fear of horses as well as other things, hence the horse imagery we see in the background. And why yellow guy is always the main victim of this stuff). In episode 4 red guy breaks through and realised he doesn’t need sponsorship and can do this on a shoestring budget if it was something he truly loved, and so he tried to save his friends from the show. Pulling the plug and restarting it on their terms (less props, everyone is now their favourite colour and the date changes). That’s just one of the popular theories but there’s plenty more.

@ErikaCartet11 ай бұрын
i mean, the theory itself may be interesting but it doesn’t mean you’d then be watching while “knowing the entire meaning behind the show” - the show doesn’t have a definitive meaning and part of what makes it so interesting to delve into and theorize about is being able to form unique interpretations about what it means

Everyone's right, you should watch the longer TV series they were commissioned to do after these KZbin episodes. You can tell the first KZbin installment here is very crude. What you didn't see was a hostage video they made to raise funds to make more KZbin installments. The longer episodes have some callbacks and a similar theme overall, but goes far deeper, exploring tragedy and the nature of civilization itself.

Okay, seeing you guys watching Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared for the first time ever was unexpected for me, what a surprise to see on KZbin this weekend, now that you guys watched Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared for the first time ever and eventually ended this video saying it was absolutely terrifying and something that will keep you two or at least one of you awake all night long or maybe in all the other following nights for the rest of this year, you might understand where an episode of the fifth season of The Amazing World Of Gumball was coming from by the time you both reach The Amazing World Of Gumball Season 5, which of course will probably take a long time but, hey, at least you’re both lucky that I’m patient enough to wait until then, carry on with whatever you both might going, and careful, don’t hurry If one of you guys actually spend many sleepless nights this year due to what you saw watching this show then, I’ll feel very sorry for you.

The idea of the ending is that Red pulled the plug on the original show which was ran by him and the Dad named Roy I believe. Roy basically made the show into a thing to terrify his son and basically convert him to thinking like him. Sort of psychological torture. Red who was shown to have the original idea for the show by pitching it at his old office job sees the show has lost all control so he pulls the plug on it and basically goes Indie with it. Big signal for that is the day changing and the characters now being their favorite creative colors from the first episode.
@michealrosen11 ай бұрын

@arianaink10011 ай бұрын
There’s a ton of detail in each episode Also aspic is like early invented jelly/jello stuff - you think like 1800 England to 1950/1960s US and there’s a shit ton of jello molds (Queen Victoria like uniqued foods and shapes and part of getting unique mold forms- and forming these shapes was best done with aspic a liquid that becomes a solid. which is why you can have suspended cut or canned items mixed with jello in a fancy mold. This can be meats fruits veggies even salads in jello molds. (While England had a lot of time to make metal molds the US had steel production but not fine artistry with molds it was far more common in the 1950/60s to use a bunt cake pan or just some chilled glassware - also why England developed more unique bread pans out of metal. (You can find old metal molds for things like Easter breads in the shape of actual lambs all the way to chocolate egg molds and rabbits all with details like hair texture lines or eyes noses faces etc) A lot of this series is British made with British humor and looks very very closely at British television series and issues with manipulating children/adults and even sexual harassment and abuse of children who perform on tv. (The most famous tv hosts of the 80-90s in England was Jimmy Savile - and he was vile he was exposed as one of the biggest pedophiles in the world, abusing children on his tv show but even assaulting women as old as 75 years.) this caused a major issue with viewers who had loved all his tv shows episodes and dramas and had to consider the fact they were children who grew up watching and admiring him. A lot of this series looks at how adults/children watch a show and how they relate or feel seen. And how certain narratives are forced practically down people’s throats. As characters they can’t escape the show as puppets they’re forced to perform endlessly or the characters die and are left in a warehouse/garbage bin. The main character the yellow guy is unnamed and is shown as a child and the focus is mostly on him and how he navigates the world with new info fed to him or how he disagrees gets confused and scared and worried of punishment. (Punishment being more episodes where he’s forced to endure stress/abuse - and he never grows up) The end of this mini series says ya the show can end but it will be immidiately replaced with another show that fills up that tv slot and with new people doing the acting/puppets and a new series of the same themes/genre/messages will just take its place.
@philippeamon727111 ай бұрын
But in the final scene, it's a more scraped production - as if there is no studio with big money behind it, anymore. And also, the colors they reappear in, where the exact colors the characters listed as their favourites. So it's more pure and true to self.

From a viewpoint, DHMIS seems to take that childlike innocence and ruin it; Get Creative - When making something; this can be like a story, art, music, etc, the way that people make it can depend on however old you are, even an adult. When they got older, the crafts they made were more dark and inhumane. Time - While time IS confirmed an illusional concept, we WILL "run out of it" eventually as life continues. 40 million people struggle with Anxiety, while there's many other people who suffer from Death Anxiety, including me. Cognitive therapy and prescribed medication can treat both greatly. It's also important that the more you look at Death in a good way, for example, not feeling anymore pain or suffering, you will enjoy Life more while you still have it. Love - This one was a toughy because I'm not sure if this was targeted towards today's Religions or straight up cults. Both, however, are pretty dark, if you look deep in enough. Many people have their beliefs, and sometimes it can end up just like what you saw, a sinister cult who wants to indoctrinate you into their beliefs and outright insanity. Technology - While I know a lot on computer science, I'm unsure what this one was supposed to lead towards. A lot of people have said how it tells how addicting and unhealthy the media can be, even though there's so much it can do for us now. Still, it's not a bad idea to touch some grass now and then. Health - Following media, there's plenty of people who will try to tell you to "eat this, you'll live longer", or "this food is actually healthy for your heart". Nobody is really sure on what foods are considered to be good for your body at all because of this dilemma. It's best to stick with the Food Pyramid. Dreams - This one hit me. Despite how short the song was, the video still gave a lot of impact on how we see things in our dreams and also in the real world. Dreams can be about anything, but they're just dreams that most likely will never come true, whilst in the real world, everything is basically boring life in an average adult's job. Adults who have been brainwashed in that society claim songs and childish stuff to be boring, while kids think the opposite.
