Pagliacci (original title in Italian; in Spanish, Payasos) is a two-act drama with a prologue. The music and the libretto in Italian belong to the composer Ruggero Leoncavallo, and the play recounts the tragedy of a jealous husband and his wife in an art comedy theater company.
Place and date of premiere: Teatro dal Verme on May 21, 1892

-Canio, head of the actors (dramatic tenor)
