I water fasted for 21 days at home, it was absolutely an awesome experience, all the way I did test glucose/ketone levels, I had lots of uncomfortable symptoms but I was happy that my body was cleaning house and trying to heal, I know most of the repair occurs when you star re-feeding that is why is so important to eat real healthy after the fast. I want to do it again because the health benefits are amazing

MY story. I went to bed Sunday night after eating a pizza, big bag of chips, 6 pack of beer and a couple cocktails. Woke up Monday at 7. Fell back asleep. Got back up at 11 and had to cancel work. Felt so horrible I decided to stop everything and go on a fast. I had done one 10 years ago for 3 days and knew I'd feel great after a couple days. I stayed on for 128 hours till Saturday morning. I went from 155lbs to 144.2lbs. I did moderate exercise for an hour as much as my body would handle. TRUTH- this time I felt out of it till Friday. It's now saturday morning as I type and I'm drinking coffee and going to eat in about an hour. I feel like a new man...Fasting works- even if you dont do it right- it's the hardest "easy" thing you'll ever do.

Wow Dillon, this was a great interview. I've been vegan for 5 years, but HCLF for 3+ My father died from issues related to Crohn's disease and when I became symptomatic, rather than take pills as he did, I did my own elimination diet. When I removed dairy, within one week, all cramps, bloating and pain was GONE! Yes, Dr. Goldhamer is correct - pain is a great reason for maintenance. Going back to a SAD diet is not an option for me. I cannot wait for the other interviews, they are motivating and reaffirming. Thanks again.

Glad you liked the interview! That is great to hear about the changes you have made; once a person experiences this, I think most would never go back and the ones that do probably don't actually want to but are still battling the pleasure trap.
@Janet_Price7 жыл бұрын
Scyn bear - Sorry you misread what I wrote. I did not become vegan overnight, I became vegan gradually through an elimination diet. First, I stopped eating beef, then chicken, then fish. This took place over a matter of time. I also stopped eating processed foods, salt, sodas and fast food. The timeline is not important nor is the length of time it took to accomplish all this. What is important is to emphasize that when I removed dairy AND thereby become vegan at that point, all Crohn's symptoms disappeared for good. Again, I became vegan AFTER I removed dairy from my diet. I am living happily ever after...........

Scyn bear - Hi, my father ate the Standard American Diet (SAD). He picked out the fat from the meat he ate because it bothered him and I don't remember how much dairy he ate, but I remember his funny eating habits. He didn't eat much junk food, but the food he ate bothered him and he was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Not one doctor told him to modify his diet, they just prescribed pills, pills and more pills. After too many years of treatment but not any modification, he died. I believe if he had become vegan, he'd have lived so much longer as he was active for many years.

The key to a good interviewer is not making the interviewee feel uncomfortable by staring at him intently while he answers your questions. I understand that might be because you feel pressured by the interview, or trying to keep in mind questions you need to ask, or things like that. Try mimicking some of the emotions or body language that he's showing. Dr. Goldhamer is a pretty easy person to mimick because he smiles so often and has such a positive body language that you can't really go wrong, unless you do the exact thing you did and that is: show no emotion whatsoever xD Good knowledge, thanks for sharing!

I would like to try the 7 day fast sometime, even though, like you, I don't have weight to lose. I would think it would be so hard to keep warm during the fast, I would want to do it while temp's are warm, like you did. I can't imagine doing it in the middle of winter in Montana. Sounds like you slept fine, but do a lot of people have problems sleeping during a fast? I would think the hunger would keep me up. Thanks for the videos, you are really good at making them. Hope your dad is doing well. I wish my parents and husband would change the way they eat. Maybe I can get my mom to go with me to true north or to the mcdougall program.

I think the people that have some trouble sleeping are the ones going through some more significant internal corrections than I would have experienced. For me, the hunger was nothing, only lasted 1 day. For others that is not the case. I'm excited to tell you that next month my mom is even going to True North! She is already very healthy, but wants to experience the fast and the lectures, the food, etc. Very exciting.

I have reached 64 hours as I write this. I have not been able to go beyond 94 hours I'm going for 120. The main goal is weight loss and detoxification. I was 15 stone 9 pounds at the beginning. I hope I can transfer to a wholefood diet as described. I do love my kebabs/ chips/ fry ups/ chocolate/crisps/ ice creams/sweets though. But I'll try to do it. 🙂 *Edit I'm still going 😁💪

Hi Fasting community! I got two question. 1-How to prepare a water-fasting? 2- should I Or Could I take salt or any supplement when waterfasting?
@ryankimbell20322 жыл бұрын
I am about to try a fast again. Did 11 days last time. This time I am drinking an electrolyte mix daily. It will help with feeling so tired. It is not necessary to take anything though. Best of luck.

How drastic is the effect of autophagy when fasting? Will it have a notable effect on loose skin that arises due to weight loss?

Hello 👋.I'm new to your channel. I've been told or it comes up that you need salt to fast and I've got myself in trouble adding it to water . I still ad a tiny bit I noticed weakness without it but perhaps I will adapt .. I have a fear of being low in sodium because I had abused electrolytes while fasting and I had landed in the ER with low sodium ..but I had used to much potassium. Do you guys advise no sodium in water ? I only use 1/8 tsp to 1/4 . But I do notice thirst ..

What I want to know is if someone is let's say obese/ overweight with no health conditions and normal vitals and such after fasting for say an extended period of maybe a month, would they be at risk of developing diabetes because their blood glucose is low? Or any other major health conditions?

Great video. What about fasting for osteoarthritis and cartilage problems? Can fasting heal these issues?

Why do you get dizzy when fasting and what can you do about it ?

First few days dizziness is expected .take it easy lay in bed. Minimum movement . U can meditate take deep breaths read etc. After the 3rd day things get much easier and energy comes back but that doesn't mean u go and run 😁. Good luck

Does anyone know when it comes to water fasting what type of water is best? Should we be using spring water, distilled, reverse osmoses or re-mineralized distilled?

Any pure water is fine but after few days drink them warm. I have completed 10 days fast using warm tape water

I'm curious about long term fasting when your healthy and don't need to lose any weight. How many days would be enough to allow your body to get rid of any residual toxins and do maintance healing?
@WellYourWorld6 жыл бұрын
A week. That is what I did last year and that is what Dr. Goldhamer says all of his staff generally do, including him. I hope to do one week per year for maintenance. Check out my summary video on my channel about my fast at True North.
@allenmiller20716 жыл бұрын
That's a long time. Two days I had a slight headache. I would be afraid I would lose 5 pounds if I fasted a week. I think I'll try 3 days and see how that goes.
@WellYourWorld6 жыл бұрын
Yes, do 3 days as a try out. But don't worry about the weight loss. You will gain it all back right away. I lost 15 pounds in a week and I gained it all back in a week or less. Watch my summary video.

Does fasting improve muscle growth?
@WellYourWorld6 жыл бұрын
I have not read anything that refers to this before. I imagine it could help after a fast, but I don't imagine it would be anything other than a negligible impact, but again, I am just guessing. I have absolutely no idea.

You must replace minerals. Pink salt, no salt (potassium), buy it next to the salt. Some kind of magnesium. Several teaspoons of each daily
