The Disco dancing scene is amazing & one of the best things about Prom Night, besides the kills, in my opinion. Those songs are catchy & will get stuck in your head. Prom Night actually breaks the sex equals death rule of slashers, by having Kelly die, despite the fact that she refused to go all the way with her boyfriend.

The guy who took the fall for the sister's death and had escaped from prison, I wondered if the brother was the red herring. This movie has the look and vibes of an Italian giallo thriller-- and that's a good thing. It's interesting how the script tries to distract us from figuring out who the psycho is, with inclusion of the sex offender escaping from the psychiatric institute. This is a fun one; not as good as top drawer slasher pics like Black Christmas or Candyman but definitely enjoyable. And we grow to like Jamie Lee's character Kim so much that by the end revelation we're feeling like our heart's suddenly been put in a bird feeder. That climax always leaves me heaving a sigh of sadness. We get closure ... but it stings.

How the hell do you keep "child falls to their death" a secret? Unlike IKWYDLS, this kid likely had parents or legal guardians that would wonder where she is, and eventually the police are gonna start questioning where people that knew her, since playing in an abandoned convent isn't usually something kids do alone.
@eduardo_corrochio Жыл бұрын
I think the thing here is that maybe the kids made a pact never to blab to any parent or grownup that they were with Robin that afternoon (can't even _begin_ to imagine the guilt storm that would cause in my psyche for the rest of my life, but that's another conversation). So naturally and logically it couldn't be about keeping the *death* a secret-- the kid would be found that evening or the next day most likely. Wendy seems to want to let the adults just think that Robin was somewhere she shouldn't have been, and accidentally took a fall.
