Spirals are key to this film from camera movement to the story. Such a great follow up to HARDWARE hopefully a 4k someday. When I worked Robert Burke I told him how much I like this movie he responded “ can you explain it to me because I certainly don’t understand it”.

4 , Tops. great ending in H20 spoilt. I think the film makers went on to do the Disney Star Wars Trilogy + Indiana Jones.

King hated the movie version of The Shining. I agree it was terrible. Please make a remake of The Shining that does justice to the book. Salem's Lot was an early King's book written when the novice author was still fresh. King now puts out trashy books because he has become a habit to consumers and is obscenely rich. I have watched all the remakes of Salem's Lot and not one reaches connects with the viewers like the original. My last thought what if the Salem's Lot made for T.V. was made for the big screen and stayed true to the novel. What if?

I know this is a video about the JP movie, but when talking about Michael Crichton, how can you not talk about his debut novel The Andromeda Strain, and the absolutely classic Robert Wise adaptation of it (a very accurate adaptation I might add). Crichton's career didn't start with ER.

HOLY SHIT I never realized the fat dude from Hardware was the cop in Dust Devil!

Holy shit. I used to have the special edition of this on DVD. I wish I still had it. Just to add after watching the full video, it sounds like you had the same version I did. This movie was highly underrated and needs a larger cult following.

I've known of this movie for some years now, mainly because I'm a fan of Robert John Burke. But I have yet as an adult to view it in its entirety (didn't know about 3 versions until now). I think I've seen one version as a kid but it's vague, so I've been wanting to watch it but maybe I've been missing it on streaming? lol

This movie would have been slightly worse without Michael Richards. The whole movie occasionally comes to a halt so to showcase his hackneyed bits.

Has anyone ever seen Route 666? It had Lou Diamond Phillips in it. A very underrated horror movie.

It was on HBO all the time, I believe it was around 1992-1993?

I only saw the film once, but loved it! I would pair it with Jodorowski's Santa Sangre (1989) for a surreal, double feature.

Richard Stanley is a legend and when I met him we talked about his movies and interests for the future and I also found out that he was responsible for other things and I love Dust Devil for its occult and haunting soundtrack

Richard Stanley and the Dr. Moreau adaptation (read: situation) is the direct reason why the rest of his svelte filmography is overlooked.
