While scouting out a potentially amazing but hard to get to location for our next performance we quickly learn some realities of off-roading our fully loaded up Ram ProMaster. We wanted to give a peek behind the scenes at what it takes to get to some of these amazing places!
The "van life" usually isn't what you expect, in fact it's constantly throwing you curveballs, but it is certainly always an adventure. This was no exception!
Filming at (let alone traveling to) all these amazing off the beaten path places is a challenge we want to continue, but it can get expensive. Help keep us on the road and bringing you content from these incredible spots by supporting us on Patreon! Thank you to all those who help keep the channel going and growing!

Air Down the front to say 8 psi Power is not the problem it is traction mainly because of weight transfer .

Is that a 2500? Do you know the weight? I have a Promaster 1500 camper van. Weight is about 6400, with a little more on the front axle (weighed on CAT scale). Mine has a 3" lift, Sumo springs, and Toyo Open Country AT III tires. I've taken it on some rough roads but so far nothing as steep as what you just showed. Still wondering what the limits are.

FWD? Try backing up that section. Or... consider a 4wd or a 4x4 vehicle for that sort of terrain.

Did you turn the traction control off? It will allow the wheels to work better in this terrain.

Weight transfer to the rear always handicaps FWD vehicles when going up hills.

I do have a 2024 pro Master It will do just fine. Keep in mind the driver is very important not only the vehicle.

Not really a power issue. Traction issue, especially since it's FWD.

Whatever you do, DO NOT INSTALL AN OFF HIGHWAY VAN lift kit. after 25000miles on my 2022 PM 3500, I’ve experienced complete and deadly dangerous front end failure! No shop in Texas will touch a lifted Promaster! Save yourself from a horrible mess. I live in this van and I’m completely screwed. The RAM dealer here in Waco won’t even consider it!

Very good effort. Interesting to me is to see that that your limit was not the ground clearance of teh promaster or the limited articulation but rather the simple fact of insufficient traction from fwd-2wd. That could be helped a little with having a Limited Slip Diff on that front, although it was not clear to me exactly how much wheel spin you were getting on one side if that was a major factor or not. Main factor is the 2WD and the the weight distribution over the driven tyres(Front) being insufficient for the overall weight. - For that steep gravel track you need at least AWD and more likely 4wd with some locking diff if the road profile pushes one of the drive wheels into the air, which is very likely with the promaster having limited articulation - it easily pokes a wheel off the ground unloading it and causing any open diff(like the standard oem) to be mostly ineffective, the Anti-Slip-Control (traction control with wheel brake) might help if that is fitted on the vehicle, not sure with USA Promasters. Please ceck out my blogsite for a potential solution to ambitions with a Promaster on this mission, invcluding a boost in your onboard battery for running your studio! www.offroadhybrids.com/
