He is one of the last Demi-Gods at war for control of the Great Runes after the shattering of the Elden Ring. His duel with Malenia resulted in their mutual defeat and the land of Caelid becoming plagued with scarlet rot, with which Malenia was afflicted at birth.

Emma, you did it! With a little help from Edgelord3000 - I mean Edgerunner! This DLC is no joke. Online help or not - pre-patch or post-patch. So you should absolutely be proud of yourself here regardless of how you got there. Definitely do go back to take it on solo later if you want to, but don't go putting any asterisks or "buts" alongside your "I beat Shadow of the Erdtree." Because you climbed an absolute mountain to get here even if you needed a hand to summit. So go ahead and celebrate before you get back at it. Looking forward to your Dark Souls 3 playthrough when you're ready for that. Dark Souls 1 is still my favorite of the series, but 3 has some excellent boss fights waiting for you even if the levels around them don't quite hit the highs of DS1. Still glad to see the return of Souls Sundays and it's a good reminder to start popping back into the Discord more often!

Remeber when you couldn't summon mimic because Radhan would instantly dive bomb you as soon as you went though the fog and near one shot you at 60 vigor.. Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I never tried to summon in his boss room before, but I do remember getting one shot immediately after entering pre-nerf...It looks like they changed several things...The tracking on his clone attacks looks easier to dodge now also!

New viewer here. Watched/listened to every episode while I was going a new base game run. Enjoy your positivity and enthusiasm with this game. It’s nice to see. My only thing I’ll say in the most friendly way possible is, I hope you develop more confidence in your playing, and less about losing runes. Runes are endless in this game. There was a lot of shining moments in your play through of the skills you have, but then a lot of the time you would hide from certain enemies, and never really get to experience the true fight at all. Still though, I’m glad I watched, and became a new fan. Hope you enjoy Dark Souls 3! It’s great. Easier than Shadow Of The Erdtree that’s for sure haha.

Im not the goat EdgeRunner, but that same tarnished actually helped me kill PCR too on one of my playthroughs. He was killing the guy so fast in phase 2 that I had decided to purposely die so I could try again and feel a little better about the part I did in the whole thing. But EdgeRunner literally killed the man before I could complete my suicide. Even still, it's a pleasure watching a master like that do their work. I did my first 800 hours or so of this game all offline, and managed to beat radahn prenerf (with mimic tear) but now I summon real players for almost every hard fight because the cooperation is just very jolly 😊

Congratulations! This DLC is no joke. After days of attempting to beat this fight, I too decided to summon someone just for the hell of it and they defeated Radahn and Miquella so quickly I couldn’t even register what was happening. It was both disappointing and relieving lmao.

A lot of people in the beginning definitely did opt to change their build specifically to mitigate damage and do major status damage (I say this without giving away what they used, in case you don't want to know the meta) I think, with this fight, it pays to make use of the bonus to Flask healing that comes with using the DLC's higher tier Crimson Seed Talisman--it practically doubles the amount that you heal. I will also say that, post-nerf, Consort Radahn almost feels *jankily* slow sometimes, in a way that I think sometimes makes dodging *harder* than it was pre-nerf. I've only fought him once like this so far and it was HARD. That might be because of getting muscle-memory from the before and then struggling to adjust to the after, but I think some of it is a few of the more dangerous attacks feeling *delayed* now in that special way that Elden Ring likes to delay big, painful attacks (leading me to dodge way too early lmao).

Congrats on beating Consort Radahn! It's a really crazy fight, still not super comfortable with it yet but it's not as unpredictable as you (and me early on) think. My favourite way to fight him is with the Deflecting Hardtear and a big weapon, like the Black Steel Greathammer or Bloodfiend's Arm. Once you get used to the deflect timing (which is the same as Sekiro really) it's not too bad, and the guard counter attacks do a lot of damage. I'd definitely give it another go on a new character, that extra health and poise in NG+ is pretty full on. The biggest difference you'd find pre-nerf is he would come at you as soon as you went through the fog gate, so no time to get diet fanta out. Also they've added some brief pauses after some of his attacks. Other people have covered EdgeRunner's build, but I'm not sure if they mentioned Shabriri's Woe. It's a talisman from the base game which pulls aggro on to you, they must have been wearing that by the look of it. Been looking forward to this episode for a while and was not disappointed, looking forward to Dark Souls III, I think you'll love it!

Mimic dose work with rahdan. Add raw meat to your mimic slot so he can heal itself during combat! Heavy armour shield thrusting weapon with bleed & rot. It worked for me on NG+7

Very charming play through. Elden Ring is my fav game of all time. I did feel that the ending was kind of a let down. Radahn says nothing, and Miquella’s story ends in a feeble way. I would love to see you play the remake of Silent Hill. Extremely atmospheric game.

Congratulations! As someone who did beat these guys pre nerf, it was absolutely insane, and honestly not a fun experience at all. The lights were far more blinding in phase 2, Radahn had some hit boxes that were straight out of OG dark souls (they were far to big) and he had a frame trap attack that would whittle down your healing flasks, making the endurance battle absolutely rage inducing. Glad they got nerfed. Also congratulations again for beating the dlc!

This is the first time I have seen him post-nerf, and it definitely looks like they made him easier...The biggest thing that annoyed me pre-nerf was how damn bright the holy attacks were! My monitor is like 1200nits so it felt like I was constantly getting flash banged! It also looks like they lessened the tracking on his clone attacks...She was just dodging away from it, but I got destroyed everytime I tried that pre-nerf...

I had the most trouble with his left-right slash that would confirm hit you with at least one attack whenever he used it unless you light rolled or used crucible feather tali for I-frame back steps. It made the endurance fight so much harder for me because I would run out of heals much quicker if I got unlucky and he decided to spam it. The lights in phase 2 were also really bad for sure. Glad they toned down how bright they are.

@@dylanworth8038 I have seen alot of people complain about the left-right slash pre-nerf, but I don't remember having trouble with it...I may have just not being paying attention to it at the time though...I think the attack that killed me the most was the clone attack that he would do after floating in the air and hitting you will the rock sling...I just couldn't figure out how to dodge it...I eventually just gave up and used the Fingerprint shield to block it...

Heal from afar is meant to be used while free aiming at the floor because it's lightning fast healing and heals a lot and is very efficient at healing

You could have put the blessing and the raw meat dumpling in the items boxes..... you didn't have to use them, but I know the mimic uses the dumpling to heal and I think maybe the blessing as well.

Regarding going back to try kill him without human help. My only advice would be to learn the first half of the fight so that you can solo it without much trouble, and then as soon as the next stage starts summon your mimic and use loads of buffs. Then cross your fingers and hope to get lucky 😅

I changed my build for this boss. Bleed is clearly just by far the most effective build in Elden Ring. I don't consider it giving up, it's trying to level the playing field! I'm so glad they nerfed this boss though because before that the fight actually felt incorrect LOL. I tried fighting on my own for a while but even when I tried to summon mimic, he wouldn't even give you a moment to do so without jumping in your face immediately and punishing you for it! When I finally beat him, my face was seriously like 😐 because I was just relieved it was over haha. But YAY EDGELORD 3000!! And good job Emma! Sooo looking forward to your DS3 playthrough but I think it may be a cakewalk after Radahn 😂

Congrats, glad to see you and fanta get to the end :) Radahn uses every dirty trick in the book and so should we :p Personally I think this fight is massively overtuned even in NG, so New Game + is brutal. I just have zero interest in doing it "fair" again, it's such a slog, and to make things worse it punishes all the build variety that made Elden Ring so good by being so relentless like you said. So pumped to see you in DS3 (or other game you pick), it'll be a victory lap in comparison! The vibes are immaculate, and the bosses are the best in the entire series (not including BB/Sekiro).

Yay we finished. Now it’s ds3 time to finish them all up🤖 I didn’t change my build but I’m a madman so don’t take what I do seriously. I used the Milady my first playthrough of the dlc on him and on my level 1 no blessing fights. The only way for her to find out who Edgerunner is is by looking up any PSN names that she played with in Elden Ring recently. "EdgeRunner" is probably his character name and not his PSN. So she'll have to message all recent players she played with in Elden Ring to find out who EdgeRunner is.

I beat him pre-nerf solo, but I ended up breaking down and using the Fingerprint shield and Rivers of Blood to bleed him out...He was quite ridiculous before, but he is still really hard now...

Congratulations :D I have (just checked) just over 1000 hours in elden ring. When the DLC came out I was on game +10, The DLC was painfully hard but also awesome. This boss was the first boss in the game I had to use the summon feature to get someone else to help me kill it before they nerfed it. It was INSANE and regardless after the nerfs etc its still an insane fight. So much happening, the speed etc One thing I've learned from my first souls experience with Elden Ring.. don't expect an 'ending' that will satisfy anything. The DLC ending was such a non event it botherd me a little but I get it that the 'ending' is like the whole journey you went through to get there etc etc An amazing game, I still think Bayle holds the most EPIC moment for when he goes into phase two. I swear I died the first time because I was so blown away with what I was seeing 👁👄👁

Yah I had to look up a build to beat him. The fight was way too hard for me to finish otherwise. Used the antspur rapier, a massive shield and tanked it out. No shame in summoning help. I tried that but they struggled just as I did.

Congrats! Tbh, I personally felt like the hours spent on this boss felt like a chore more than the engaging fun I usually feel with Souls bosses. Quite the cool spectacle of a fight! But... yeah. Actually a bit too hard for once. Almost forcing players to cheese. Which then makes victory feel a bit hollow. Point is, no shame! Well done for beating the dlc.

@@colinnixon7739 yeah. Good tip. I do know there are builds that make it more doable. But pivoting to those from a completely unrelated build feels a bit like giving up/admitting defeat. After beating the entire rest of the huge game building this character up. I've had to change strategies before. Rejig spells, equipment, items, etc, many times. Even tweak stats a bit. I love doing that! But completely changing to an unrelated cheesey build built purely for Radahn... I did exactly that. But it felt like it wasn't really me & the character I built that beat Radahn. It cheapens the victory. Just the same as if I had an OP co-op summon. Was a strange feeling after such a cool epic fight to feel so unsatisfied inside. I can't fault From too much. They had to make it ridiculously hard. It just stepped a bit over the line of what's fun, for me. TLDR: Skill issue lol

lmao edgerunner just spamming firebombs at you for dying when he did all that work 😭 btw its not necessarily just “what build does he have”, its more so that the player pretty much knows the bosses movesets. and using a combo of black knife flame, rot, bleed, frost, damage. a “good build” isnt going to do shit if you cant avoid most of their attacks or have precise timing. btw hes using reduvia as well as constantly attacking so his uptime high enough to get those bleed procs off. as for changing your build, you dont really have a build lol. you have bleed on milady but not really optimizing for bleed. and then you have blasphemous but not optimizing your gear and physiks for the blasphemous blades ash of war. and changing your build isnt giving up unless you change it to something incredibly cheap. but in your case you dont actually have a build. its just not focusing on any one strat to maximize your damage. but again what it comes down to is tweaking your setup + simply actually learning the timings of this boss. for example that gravity pull can be dodged. radahn is relentless but theres tiny windows in there for damage as well as being strategic with posture breaks that is pretty much essential to beating him. he kicked my ass for sure but all i did was stack as much fire damage..no overpowered build, and the majority of it was knowing when to dodge and where to position to maximize dps and survivability.
