Bohol is a paradise... every bit of Bohol is a piece of that paradise, as promoted by this video. I was born and raised in this paradise. Nature abounded; factory-made toys/gadgets were virtually non-existent during my younger years. I spent my childhood wandering among mangroves and streams along the bay area facing the Kawasihan Sandbar, 10 km northeast of Poblacion Guindulman. Catching elusive colorful little crabs (agokoys) was a favorite activity. These activities and experiences, I think, are only dreams among foreign and city-based local tourists. I was amused, to have known just recently, that tourists may now avail of trekking among mangroves in the general area I used to be. My place was magical, really. Unfortunately, my place has no sandy beaches, just endless mangroves... nipa palms and pagatpat trees, and lots of sea streams in between. First-class sandy beaches, like Anda de Bocaray, are concentrated at the other side of the Anda Peninsula. There was that marvelous Kawasihan Sandbar, but it was 4 km away and could only be reached by boat. Nevertheless, my family had an annual picnic there in the 50s/60s. Regarding beaches in Guindulman… My take is that, the beaches and waters are suited for scuba diving, due to being “kantil”. Well, that’s the local term for waters whose depth drop abruptly, even in points just few meters from the shore. In contrast, Anda de Boracay, 12 km east, has shallow waters, which is safe for children and adult non-swimmers. The negative aspect is that, you can’t dive unless you are a quarter kilometer away from the shore, much more during low tides. That was what I observed in my two, and only two, visit in Anda, de Bocaray, in 2015 and 2018. So for my take on Guindulman beaches, I can say that, for I had a near RIP experience with kantils which I tell in the ff story… - Way back late 1950s, when I was 3 or 4 yrs old - My father was invited to a Sunday picnic, and I reckoned that the host, a municipal-level gov’t. employee, was a bit sipsip, since my father, who was at the provincial level personnel administrator, handled -- even endorsed --the host’s job promotion process/papers. - Well, anyway, my father accepted the invitation. Mother and I went along - The specific beach I could not recall, but it was a walking distance from our host’s residence in Poblaction, either Sawang or Tabajan. The beach, it seemed to me, was facing Camiguin Island in the far horizon - I was dipping in the waters, which was up to my hip. Only a meter away, my parents and the host were standing by, chatting. - I felt small waves lashing at me. Then I became aware that my host was pulling me by the arm to the sands - They said that a big wave sucked me as it receded back, and if the host was not quick enough to grab my arm, I could have been swallowed to the “kantil”, just a few meters, and that could be my “bye bye kind paradise world” - I still remember those moments… The big wave striking me, and the host dragging me back - But not the moment in between, when the water was swallowing me towards the kantil… - Well, frankly, I don’t have any memory of it… in the first place, I was not aware of it… maybe because that critical moment, when the sea was to claim me, happened so fast and my concentration was on savoring the nice, clear seawater. I was even surprised that the host and my folks appeared agitated, disturbed - If I was successfully teleported to heaven, I had no way of knowing what had hit me - I was never again in the waters for the rest of the picnic - One good memory, though: After the near RIP incident, the host served halo-halo, made of mongo, sugar and milk, with crushed ice. In the 1950s, as a rule, ice cream existed only in Tagbilaran (the only Bohol town with full electrification at that time), so no ice cream for toppings, as today’s halo-halo tends to have

Hi! May I tell you the very best News you have ever heard before? It is that Heavenly Father sent to earth His holy Son Jesus (Y'shua Ha Mashiach is the hebrew Name for Jesus) to be born of a virgin. Jesus grew up and died on the cross for our sins, and was put in a tomb for 3 days. Then, Heavenly Father raised Jesus/Y'shua to life and He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life as Savior, to be a child of the Living God! It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." Will you believe truly upon Jesus Christ and genuinely receive Him into your life this day?
