I used to attend Buckhead Church pretty regularly a little over 5 years ago. A girl that I was dating got me to attend with her. Now Ive been a Christian most of my life. I was raised in church and I was looking very forward to attending Buckhead. It was long after that she introduced me to her friend who was a very depressed individual. She told me later that all he needed was a good Christian husband. Come again? I met another friend of hers during a meetup at a restaurant where they were discussing a missions trip to Africa. She told me later that he was gay as well. I backed up and reassessed all of this. At first I was thinking that these guys were at the right place and were getting the help they needed. I was wrong. They are being accepted for their life styles and being accepted in serving roles. Last time I checked, this wasn’t condoned by God fearing Christians Which led me to believe that Buckhead and North point are both self serving churches. And the girl and I? We broke up soon after.

Has anyone got the full message of this clip. I did not get the feeling Andy condoned the situation. He wanted the pastor in that church to sort things out, but they left the church. If your going to quote leviticus, don't leave out the passages that teach how to properly beat a slave, or that disobedient children should be killed, or that a rape victim should marry her rapist. I don’t understand how so many “Christians” believe gay people shouldn’t be in church. The unsaved and lost are the very ones we as Christians are supposed to be ministering to. Sin is sin… Should AS say you’re still struggling with addiction, you can’t come to church?you’re struggling with …, so you shouldn’t come to hear how God can change your life. Please. People can suppress their homosexuality, but said suppression does not make it nonexistant. I have known own many gay men who married women and could only function with them by thinking of the male anatomy. Guess what? They are still gay? And not only do they not choose their fundamental orientation, it also does not automatically confer immorality, any more than a heterosexual orientation confers automatic morality. And it's not a " lifestyle" either. What's tragic about this is that he doesn't say that in the first place, the can't be on the team because they are in an active homosexual relationship. They should be welcomed to be in the church, to learn about God and His salvation but not able to serve when living in active sin. If you watch this…be sure to stay to the end. That’s the perfect summary. He is also twisting scripture when he says that “Jesus didn’t say THAT… exactly. That’s in Paul’s letters or Peter’s or John’s.” Eventually he’ll get to where he won’t even ‘preach’ from any book of the Bible except ones that have Jesus’ words. And the “clobber scriptures” (on homosexuality/sodomy) he mentions are TRUTH. They are GOD’s word on how to live the Christian life. Jesus said HE didn’t come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament, which AS says we don’t live by, we have the New Testament) but to fulfill it. In fulfilling it, HE declared HE lived by it, obeyed it and taught everyone who followed HIM to do so also…..they didn’t have Paul’s letters or Peter’s or John’s. It was all Old Testament. You should read some good old Isaiah’s words and then there’s Ezekiel and Daniel, and bless his heart Jeremiah. They sure didn’t mince words of judgment……oh, and that’s another subject AS doesn’t preach….judging anything/anyone. Well, they do that every day in court rooms. People wake up! wow, amazing. Apparently he had no problem with the homosexuality. Incredible!! I remember having to ask a man to step down from the worship because was actively and proudly using drugs. I told him he was welcome to attend but he could not serve because he was in WILFUL sin and he was calling his sin GOOD. Guess what, he left the church ANGRY.
