I was a 4 year member of the Philly PD when the verdict came down. I wasnt shocked . I would have been shocked if he had gotten convicted Heres the factors in my opinion that led to an easy aquittal of the very guilty OJ Simpson. 1. The prosecutors chosen were chosen by gender and race.....not overall excellence in prosecuting murder cases. It was thought a woman and an African American man would resonate with the jury. They didnt. Moreover, they prosecuted the case in a boring, painfully slow manner. Meanwhile, the dream team was in top form......the best of the best. 2. LAPD. The black community harbored alot of mistrust of the LAPD following the Rodney King incident. Moreover; det Furman, a crucial investigator on the case, was exposed on tape making horribly racist comments and claiming he set black people up, and beat them up as well. He lied on stand and was later prosecuted for perjury. He was dead to the jury: completely impeached. Defense also introduced compelling evidence that the bloody sock was tanpered with by police. Do I want to believe cops tampered with evidence? NO. But a strong case was made regarding the sock, and it might well be true that police added blood to it. 3. Dna evidense was still in its infancy at this time and the jury just didnt buy it. The jury were some of the dumbest people available and they just couldn't and wouldnt give dna evidene the proper weight. Its different now. DNA is widely understood and accepted. 4. The jury. The mostly African American jury wanted to acquit OJ. You can google it. They are admitting it now. They felt he was probably guilty but racial justice demanded they stick it to the system and let OJ off the hook. I dont support this, but I understand their sentiment. OJ was 100% guilty. Im certain of that. And there was a Charlie. Charlie later got in trouble when he and Simpson robbed a sports memorabilia dealer at a Vegas hotel.

The defense really tore up the prosecutions case but it is really sad, and disgusting, that the jury voted acquittal based on race. I always thought that they bought into the defense's game and they did raise a lot of questions regarding chain of evidence and possible evidence tampering. I personally thought that they created reasonable doubt regarding those issues but years later I came to my own conclusion that OJ was guilty. It's just so disappointing that people can't leave their personal biases at home, while serving on a jury, and determine guilt or innocence based solely on the evidence presented.

@@TexasRed59 Especially considering Nicole Brown had absolutely nothing to do with the abuses of the LAPD. Letting her murderer off the hook only served to refuse a domestic abuse victim (and her grieving family) justice for her brutal killing. It's really quite disgusting and inexcusable.

I will never forget one of my teachers talking to us about the 2-hr TELEVISED police chase after the murder. Since this was live and OJ was loved at this point, people started making signs saying “We love you OJ!“ and draping them over bridges he was about to cross. It’s insane the complete 180° switch of his whole life, and it was his own dang fault. Good riddance 😌

He had no choice in doing so. So much stuff was planted at the crime scene. His blood was planted by Furman and anyone else that had excess to his blood. I read if I did it book before it was pulled.
