I think slopestyle should be judged based on complete utilization of the course over the amount of runs you have. No line the same each run would add to the total of points earned.
@johndegelau7643 Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure they do that for X-Games. It totally reflects the best skier, but the standard format is more forgiving for one bad run. That's great for junior comps, but elite comps should absolutely use a new format like this. Diversification of tricks is the only progression left at the elite level.

Can't wait for ski season!!! Unfortunately, I twisted my ankle playing soccer two weeks ago and got a bone contusion. I should be recovered (6ish weeks) before any ski hills (8ish weeks) in my area are open, but it still sucks.

Evan Mceachran is from my hometown! his parents house is right down the street from my old highschool, honestly hes been one of my big inspirations because seeing how somone from the city ive been born and raised in just gives me a bit of a confidence boost that I could maybe be throwing some crazy tricks someday, obv im never gonna be a name in comps but its still cool that a freestyle skiier with that amount of skill can come from a city filled with concrete gives me hope to throw some crazy stuff myself someday.

We push them to hard. It narrows down are grab bag of pros and icons. And also makes it to hard to pull sponsors for very talented kids that just come up short a measly 180-360 in comparison to others and are actuallydoing video parts. Technical grabs and unique trick configurations just don't get you a win anymore. Your basically a waste of time unless you can at bare minimum hit a 14. It's seriously why I stick to watching adults 25 to 45 do freeride lines. A 540 on a big mountain freeride line during a run makes this kind of skiing look like kids play. I'd be surprised if half of these kids make it to big mountain drops in there 30's there burning them out and working them to hard.

Too dangerous huh? I have been skiing since I was 5 for 8 years, i never got hurt, cuz I am built different (and I ski like idc for my health...) PS: that skiing at the start is so skilled, idk how they know the exact momentum to twist and turn like that without messing up... like inch perfect precision.

Those kids just couldn't play games like SSX 3 and on Tour (when they came out at least) as those games are literally older than them, so they need to do all those tricks in real life.

I think you mistakenly put kids instead of adults in the title. Youth is the best time to push your boundaries, learn new tricks, and utilize your natural talent. And your reaction time is much faster. Sure decision making is lacking in youth, but there’s a reason why you don’t see many if any 30+ year olds winning these competitions.

Freestyle skiing has no style anymore. It’s become the traditional aerial skiing once again. So many flips and spins. And those skiers have much better form than these skiers in this video. 🙄
