One thing that you may have missed with the first detail is the iconic legend of what’s called “the cowboy load” which is an story about how most cowboys and gunslingers would only load 5 shots in their revolvers so the hammer is resting on an empty chamber to prevent them from accidentally shooting themselves because of the gun’s hammer being on a loaded chamber So that could not only be a cool encounter but also be a nice historical reference to the potential way cowboys and gunslingers loaded their revolvers so they can draw it and cock the hammer but not accidentally shoot themselves should the accidentally pull the trigger when the gun is pointed at them

I think you really wanted to explain the cowboy load. That's cool and I bet some people learned something cool, but it's got nothing to do with the first thing other than that a guy accidentally shoots himself with a revolver. The safety of the cowboy load comes from the fact that (according to Elmer Keith) the Colt SAA can misfire from "a sharp strike" basically anywhere if the hammer sits on a loaded chamber. So it could discharge if you were thrown from a horse or otherwise fell over hard, even just if you threw the gun down on a table really hard - no trigger pull involved. Keith also writes that this was "universally recommended" given it's for basic safety. Most men who carried a gun did not get into the habit of shooting it at people often; the cowboy load would be something a ranch-hand performing manual labour all day would be interested in so as to not ND during his work day. It's kind of like the modern-day trigger, grip, or manual safety. Cops sure use Glocks, so do civilians along with 1911s, but we don't see trigger safeties or grip safeties as "gunslinger stuff" they are safety features. A guy with a 92FS thumbing his safety down at the range isn't a gunslinger or law enforcement, he is just a guy with a gun that has a safety feature. The cylinder turns when you cock the piece. After being drawn and cocked from a cowboy load, the hammer is staring down a loaded chamber - so yes they can accidentally shoot themselves from here. It's a safety feature - you don't want to fall over onto a chair whilst you're a bit drunk and put a hole in a stranger. The trigger and hammer could be completely obscured; a good solid knock can still discharge the gun. --back to the game-- His hammer is up, and it must be resting on a loaded chamber because it discharges without the use of the hammer or trigger. Presumably that's what happened, so no cowboy load. He musta struck a buckle on that holster mighty, mighty hard. You could prime these by striking anywhere on the outside hard enough, hard enough that it usually damaged the internals. Probably not possible just from holstering. This video's about RDR2's funky secrets, not to educate about Wild West firearms :P Anyone who read this far, thanks! I hope you learned something. If you got to the building outline slightly above the "N" in Ambarino, you can find a witches hut, with a pot full mysterious liquid, which you can drink. Interesting detail I found just today.

I don't know if you've covered this detail or not, but in Call of Duty Cold War a gun called the ugr is a gun specifically made for underwater use bit can obviously be used in a loadout like a normal weapon and essentially shoots spike instead of normal bullets and if you shoot the ground or the wall you can see them sticking out

It may not be a detail or Easter egg but if you have a bow and arrow, you can do a stabbing execution by pressing the melee button, but if you press the trigger a different execution will play where you actually shoot the arrow, Many people don't know this one but if you press the trigger to start the shooting execution, then hold it + the melee button, you will do a third execution where the player pretending to shoot the arrow changes their mind and melees instead,

There is another detail that i found where in rhodes a man accidentally kills someone else in front of the gun store similar to the guy shooting himself, if you hogtie him, u can bring him to jail and will get paid

There is a cool detail in far cry 5 I think you should talk about. When you go into Virgil’s office in hope county jail if you look to the left of the door it will say, “wanted sinner” and it would show exactly your outfit even if you changed it. I only noticed this late game so you might have to play a bit.

1:35 I wouldn't be surprised if the bullet actually fired and the barrel cycled, devs just make it seem like the bullet actually fired by showing a muzzle flash, smoke and a gunshot sound but I wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar devs were insane enough to make the gun actually work just for that encounter

The legendary bear hat in Red Dead 2 is based on the hat worn by Robert Redford in Jeremiah Johnson, a western based on the real-life mountain man of the same name. It's almost impossible to get the legendary bear hat without having a few close encounters with grizzlies, and the animations used in those attacks are very similar to scenes in The Revenant

One detail that I think is very cool in red dead 2 is that Let’s say you were to commit a crime in one of the towns and escape the lawmen in there, if you decide to go back to that same town after committing a crime the entire area will be surrounded by lawmen and if they spot you you are dead I had this encounter once and I lost my horse Ingame cause of it :/

Go to the water barrels they're all around the map, if you shoot it the water will leak until it reaches the hole. If you shoot a hole underneath that one the water will continue leaking until it reaches the new hole.

In a Cemetery in new austin you can find a flower necklace that looks very simmilar to the one jack makes on your fishing trip hinting that the grave is probably of johns daughter that died also in that fishing mission when agent moron turns his back you can see arthur reach for his gun but stoping becuse he doesnt want to shoot someone infront of jack in the first reverends swanson mission whether you choose to play poker or not arthur will go to kick swanson but relises hes not there

I think it might be a case of a brass shotgun shell(Because those were common back then, most shotgun shells were either fully made of brass or made of paper/cardboard) crimped/crushed to fit around the arrow shaft. It's done a bit crudely(as seen by the asymmetry) so I feel it could pass.

Little tip, if you use DLSS I recommended switching to FSR, since it (in my experience) has less of that checkerboard effect on stuff like hair and grass.

There are a handful of tiny little compasses scattered all over the map of RDR2 ... nobody knows what they're there for and they are sometimes really well hidden and pretty much do nothing, you can't even pick them up ... they're really just there to be looked at. That's still confusing to me.
