Uber Pricing: Drivers get paid per minute and mile. This is irrespective of what they charge you for the most part. For example. Minimum Uber Fare for Drivers is $3.53 in San Diego. They used to pay amazingly well before the Pandemic($4k per month with rentals) in 2018-19. When I started driving again near the end of covid in early 2021, bonuses were insane with $600 bonuses in addition to fare rates if you did 70 rides in monday-thursday of friday-sunday periods. Even doing just 40 in those 4 or 3 day periods was an extra 250 bonus....til 2022, and since then has steadily gone down while minimum fare has dropped from $4 to 3.53. bonuses now? 40 trips for $20 extra bucks. When they had no drivers with covid and things were starting to open again? Made bank. Pre covid? Bank. Since...I only drive enough Uber to continue to qualify for Arizona State University Tuition Coverage so they pay for my computer science degree.
