I had the slim shady album on casset back in the day! Then a few years later, martial mathers LP dropped and that was the best album id ever heard!!! Eminem became a household name in the entire US overnight. The slim sady EP was passed around between kids around my school (8th grade middle school in 97) and then i got the martial mathers LP CD in highscool. Played the hell out of that cd!!! And D12 released after Eminem blew up and played the hell out of that album too! Eminen is one of the greatest of all time and Proof was his rock. Eminem went off the rails after Proof. Glad hes back and better then ever.

I was in it at the same time. Curious, where are you from? I found it amazing then and now, how these inner city Detroit kids RESOUNDED LOUDLY with kids from California to New York. Anger, fear, bravado, underdog, fame,bullies, being bullied, rising from ashes… all relatable to all kids in the US then and now.

@@chrisferrario1540 I am from Phoenix, AZ. So that first album on casset (Infinite) made its way through people all the way out here. It was unlike any other thing and it was funny too. But yeah, it mades its way by "I got this from a friend of a friend of a friend, etc... " and that album sweeped the US and the kids of that generation. Eminem seems to make gold out of each album! One that I am not a fan of, but my wife absolutely loves, is Kamikaze. Meanwhile I love the "Music to be murdered by" and the side B of it released shortly after, but she is not a huge fan of. And now the latest single just released last week, is freaking awesome, the vid for it is part Eminem Show and Encore when he goes back in time. had me cracking up.

Couple things, regardless the accuracy of what happened lil story time....the day the CD dropped I went to Circuit City to pick it up when I got there it took me a few to find it but boom there it was and it was the only copy they had or had left so I picked it up and immediately caught a back road to take in the album. Proof could have used Eminem and 50 on his debut album all over the place but he didn't he didn't even put the CD out on Em's label he did the project for the most part by himself and he fucking killed it the whole CD was a classic and still is to this day. More importantly the last song (where it gets weird for me) was called Kurt Kobain which in context with the lyrics of the song and title is down right fucking creepy and has always fucked with me like he knew this shit was going to happen, but he used a sample of "The Girl With the Tattooed Hands" by Atmosphere which introduced me to my now favorite rapper Slug and group Atmosphere I'm forever grateful for Proof he was our Flava Flav RIP to the GOAT sorry for writing a book y'all ✌️
