You can definitely try that tactic, however each time we say “no” we are increasing the stimulation level on our remote collar to try to determine the best stimulation level for him with these competing motivators present. We do not want to induce learned irreverence to the “down” command, so we are very careful about when we repeat commands, which we will do but not often. We do work on adjusting the stimulation level up if needed, and we also work to adjust it back down once we pass the competing motivators. Increasing the level too quickly in some cases will not be helpful so if the scenario is not a dangerous scenario we will slowly increase the level, this also gives us a gauge on what levels may be needed in the presence of certain distractions. Experiment with a few tactics with the various dogs you work with and see what seems to be helping you complete your training the most. Learned irrelevance happens the most with repeated commands, so we try to not practice that as well as the people we are coaching to prevent it from happening

Can you display the wanted behaviors without the food rewards and without the e-collar?

Excellent video. Im in the conditioning phase with my Saint Bernard. By using your method should he get to thr point that a tap won't be necessary and he'll just ignore thr distraction on his own?

Eventually over many many training sessions like this, ideally the dog would be paying more attention to you yes! Now some dogs may get distracted regardless, which is okay, as long as they are adhering to whatever obedience command you have given them. Hope this answers your question!

Why is heel on the left side? Or does it not matter and you just prefer him on the left?
@CanineRevolution5 ай бұрын
just a matter of preference! the dog being on the left or right side in heel is completely okay.

Why his prong collar is low I thought that it needs to be behind their ears higher.

Not a prong collar, standard fur saver training collar - they tend to sit lower

I feel like if the first "nope" correction should be followed up with "down" as the sequence instead of 12 of 15 "nopes", and the level doesnt seem motivating enough if it has to be repeated for ao many reps-even amping him up more especially passing by the fence. Do you adjust those later?

Wow i literally do this without button click collars n treats. Its called not exceeding their thresholds and yes it takes more time but i dont need useless tools that are nothing more than life long management not a fix

Imagine if this dog attacked you you would say kill the dog. Now imagine being on the dogs end of that leash n think about what you would do if someone treated you like that. 0 trust given to the dog
