Farid, I think another point for the refutation to the "war booty" excuse is that a lot of the most sincere companions were from Makkah, where they weren't even allowed to talk back to the pagans, let alone wage war against them.

Excellent breakdown. Granting the companions a degree of historical agency is a great idea because it demonstrates how hundreds if not thousands of people went from actively trying to kill a man, to finding his message so profoundly transformative and intuitive, that they became willing to die for it, even if it meant going against those closest to them.

Valid arguement! People are always like oh the prophet(saw) and his companions fought wars so it means Islam is violent ! First of all there were many prophets in Bible who fought wars also wars means high risk of death the prophet and his companions fought wars and risked his life for a religion they supposedly made up ? Remember the first Muslims were low in number

One thing to add, almost all the Sahaba were tortured because they were Muslims, for example Bilal who was tied on his neck and was pulled on the street and everyone was laughing at him, and uthman was made to sit on some sort of thing made of palm leaves then that thing was lit on fire

Your points here are important especially to counter Twelver Shi'a narratives about the Sahaba. To them the Prophet struggled for 23 years to convince the people of the divine authority of Ali..The Prophet was just a delivery man for that matter. They won't say it this clearly but that's what it is essentially.

@1:30 what you said about the messenger Muhammad going to a community who didn’t believe applies to Noah, Abraham, Hud, Saleh, Shuaib and all the other messengers who weren’t mentioned by name. That doesn’t make the last messenger distinct at all.

You could make this exact same argument for Christianity instead. Paul was a Jew who killed at least one Christian, then claimed to have come into contact with Jesus and converted. What was in it for him? He got nothing but persecution Edit: I know you said it’s a cumulative case, but if it could be used for any religion, and is arguably stronger in ones like Christianity, what’s the point of including it?
