I think they just showed that they broke up is because they are having a new romatic drama so that people, wouldn't feel awkward if they're having sweet scenes while watching the series..maybe they tried to keep it a secret (their relationship) but because of those evidence they just admit it, and planned to pass the time and announce that they broke up. plus, the 'bride of the water god' (starred by NJH) released on august 22 2017 but before they released the final episode their management announce that they broke up which is august 17 2017 inorder to avoid the issue about Joo Hyuk's new leading lady. I still hoped they were still together, the way they met & were friends for years before even acting together always touches my heart but the more you think about it... after they broke up, Nam JooHyuk started in Bride of the water god where many shippers didn’t support him because he wasn’t acting alongside Lee Sungkyung & the show received low ratings. They had their reasons of breaking up, & even if they didn’t break up, why would they say they did? everyone loved them & thought they were perfect for each other...& recently he left YG, a company he’s been in since 2013 (his modeling days) & signed a new contract with SOOP management while Lee Sungkyung resigned her contract with YG. I still keep them in my heart but if they are or aren’t together it shouldn’t matter as long as they are happy. We can only give them support & respect their decisions on THIER own lives.

They've been friends for a long time. So the decision to actually be in a relationship is not an easy choice because they could even lose the friendship. With that kind of determination to enter this relationship, I really don't think they would give up that easily. Also, their pictures together are still up on their IG. If they really broke up, they would have deleted the photos they uploaded of that person when they were still together.

I think they had to break up because they were both rising actors. Noticed when it came out that they were dating there’s not much drama offers for them. Its either no one wanted to cast them or they were getting boring drama scripts for offers. From what i know in the showbiz industry in korea, you get less drama offers or good drama offers when you get married or announced to be in a relationship. That time after WLFKBJ they were both rising actors since its their first lead drama. I think they had to break up so they can get good drama offers again. Also if they actually broke up, i think its petty for Joohyuk and Tae Joon to stop talking just because taejoon’s gf is besties with sung kyung. They’re adults. (+tae joon and joo hyuk have been friends way before sung kyung and park shin hye knew each other) Either way let them move on if they actually broke up. Its been 4 years. They only lasted a short while.

They were rising actors after WFKBJ aired so they focused on works too other than their relationship . In the showbiz industry Korea , actors who are in relationship eventually receive less scripts . But since they broke up because they were busy with their schedules , there's still a tiny bit of possibility for them to get back together in the future when they decide to put their jobs aside and get married I mean celebs want a married normal life too right
