We are mowing with a John Deere T track and a Schulte rotary deck mower. I do some explaining and describe what I am doing out here in this tractor today. Have a good one.

Hi, you might want to get an nd filter for your drone lens. I think it’s over exposing the video just an idea..

I think you are right. Yeah it is really overexposed on the bright days, maybe I accidentaly locked a setting. I am filiming in D-Log and coloring in Adobe afterwards.

Is that batwing stealth bomber mower basically a giant brush hog or something entirely different? I remember the videos you did with one in the Quad Track so assuming they need a lot of power if you’re using a 9RT here?
@TrevorStruthers
@TrevorStruthers 3 ай бұрын
Yeah its a big ol brush hog with Italian gear boxes that those Italians are quite proud of. When they need replaced you can see how proud they truly are.

Hi Trevor, another you pass over your land before sowing crops,.had you ever seen those Kelly chain diamond harrows how much ground for less fuel you can cover,.and do any local farmer's use them to reduce field work? Best regards, Bill. Ps. They are now expensive most farmer's tend to hire them.

I havent noticed the brand. I was told our drag harrows come out of wisconsin by another person who has seen ours. Everyone has harrows but not everyone uses them all the time

We farm over here SE of Pendleton, OR in Athena. We find that mowing after wheat harvest is a must, especially with the amount of rain we get and the taller varieties of wheat we grow. We also have our crops in a rotation with peas and fallow. Chopping up that straw before the tillage makes an insane difference and we can notice it in the spring when we go to seed peas. It’s a very time consuming process especially with the 5026 but it’s worth it and we’re looking to get a bigger one.

Agreed! My dad is mowing while harvest is still going on. He has the luxury of custom cutters that come in though. He mows it, then harrows it and eventually turbo tills it as well to make a good seed bed. We are a bit short on the moisture band, so we stay away from the peas but we wish we could increase the soil health with something like that though. Thanks for tuning in! Local boys and whatnot. Have a good one!

I understand that this is a very dry region. But I'm wondering that you can plan wheat every year (because of infections).

This would be wheat one year then fallow the next here. He's showing what they're doing in the fallow year here.
@TrevorStruthers
@TrevorStruthers 3 ай бұрын
There is a fallow year where we chem fallow the ground, starting sometimes in the fall after the harvest. Then the fallow is continued through chemical application until it is replanted. This is not ideal, but eliminates the green bridge and we have little problems with most infections here, other than rust when it rains a lot.
