We have done it here on the island of Roatan with canes as tall as 7 to 8 feet and had great success however as with any propagation technique it requires constant watering and can be difficult when not done in pots as you see here. We have also had success getting the discarded branches to root however as of 8 months in the soil they are growing good but have not developed into canes yet we shall see if they will grow canes.
