Propagating Spiderettes - How To Root Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) Babies

A mature spider plant produces lots of tiny baby plants or spiderettes. Here are the super easy ways that I tried to make new spider plants by rooting the spiderettes either in soil or in water. Thanks for watching❤️.

Hi Vicki...I am so glad that you like my videos. Thank you so much for appreciating my work. It means a lot !!! 😊 As you mentioned that your spiderettes are in water for a long time, so the chances of their survival after transplanting in soil is very low. You can continue growing them in water and add water soluble fertilizer to the water for nutrients. You can also try another method... first transfer your water propagations to LECA. And after that you can transfer them to soil. Good luck !!! 🤞

I have a large spider plant(plane jane and all green version) that was a pup when I started it. It now has a long vine with multiple vines coming from it. On each of these vines, I have flowers down the entire length. Will these be my first babies? Also, how long from flower will it take?

Hello honey, so my plant gave off its first pups a while ago the first pup is very big already but doesn’t have any signs of little roots but the other pup that grew after the big one are small but are showing little nubs that I believe are going to be roots is this normal? As I would have though the first biggest pup would grow roots before the smaller pups (does this make sense?) thank you!
