Salt one can buy at sari-sari stores are iodized; the process of iodizing is (I think) a government requirement! This has to do with the health of the general population to avoid thyroid health issues due to lack of iodine. Anyway, what ill-effects does iodine do to bettas?

You can use supplements for conditioning such as VitaGold. There are also powdered indian almond leaf or ketapang available in the market. Not sure if there’s a distributor in your place but it is a thai product.
