I think that is the best way to teach the volley. It takes the crazy swings that most beginners have out of the equation.

Today at tennis lessons with Tennis Australia 😇 I was practicing forehand and backhand volleys and on one backhand volley the ball bounced up straight into my face, hit me straight hard and precisely in my nose, I nearly cried because I haven’t slept properly once during this whole lockdown.. then my nose poured blood all over the court, that’s when I did cry.. went into the ladies room, loss masses amount of blood, went back on court, sulked and was a moody, sulky pita (pain in the ass) for like 10 minutes.. and then bossed up and got on with it. It’s amazing how all you need to do is change your mind set and you perform so much better.

Hey, distant cousin, good stuff. Very few pros teach the momentum aspect of volleying. I like my ready position weight forward enough so that if I lift a leg, I fall forward.

It seems to work good because the ball comes to easy position.I want to know how to volley well when the ball comes far and fast.

Good video, now expand your next volley video to include when the ball comes right at you during a volley battle, sometimes you aren't going to be in that perfect volley position. For which usually the backhand volley stroke should be used as you try to move to your right away from the on coming ball. Thanks.

For some reason I keep slicing under the ball or keep hitting the ball with the frame while hitting backhand volley. Thus, my racket usually twists in my hand.

Some good tips but would suggest you do voice over as it was difficult to hear.

obsolete technic should consider how body moves every rec player knows ideal movement in their mind but in reality cannot output. why don’t you teach us reasons of that movement, not how

Telling people to take out the turn on thier volleys like every volley they hit is a ball that's 75+ miles an hour is DANGEROUS! There are times you will have to create your own pace.....while this coach may attempt to rebuttal with the momentum of he body, if you have time, you should be doing a half turn lol, this advice is silly. If you don't have time, I think what he taught was fine, except for the footwork pattern not really mattering.

Took the words right out of my mouth. When you have time you have to try to get to the side of the ball. Yes his advice is only valid when you have no time. His volley demonstrations need work

This guy is too fast. Is it from the video or because he's a pro?
