Good to see someone using this method because this is the WARMEST way to do it. Laying on the ground will sap your warmth. This method maximizes warmth by keeping you away from the ground and stops 99% of wind. You need 1% to breathe still :P

Hi Zoltoks, Thank you for your comment pal! Yes, the best way! Plus with a small candle inbetween your feet will not only give warmth but will light the bag up as a SAR aid! 👍

Hi mate I have this bag to test, but your way is completely different to other video's, It could work but I would feel like I could not breathe

So this is a great way of completley cutting out the wind and rain! With a small Survival Candle inbetween your feet/legs for warmth!! You can cut the air hole a big as you want or need... Thank you so much for the Comments 🙏👍

If you were on a Scottish hillside with lashing wind and rain, you’d be only too happy to use this technique.

Yes you would Chris! Thanks for the comment! Andy 🤘

I know its a bit since this was posted, however I was taught a similar method during leadership training in the RN. Basically, empty rucksack, put on as much extra clothing as needed, loosen boot laces, put feet in rucksack, pull bag over head down around the rucksack, sit on any unused clothing (Inside the bag). No hole was mentioned, the theory being CO2 is heavy and would flow down, being replaced with fresh air. The bags were clear heavy duty polythene so seeing out was not a problem.

If you are injured with a broken leg or arm you will not be able to make any mods to the bag. Pulling it onto you like a bivy bag is probably the only thing you will be capable of doing. Maybe not ideal but I know people that have survived doing this. In survival there’s no wrong way of doing something as long as it keeps you alive. 👍

I totally agree John! Thank you for your comment! Andy 🤙

Isn’t that the point of this video, to encourage viewers to make the mod now rather than in extremis?

how does this compare to a karrimor survival bag? i have access only to the karrimor one unfortunately, but if it is lacking, then i'd rather pass. i don't have anybody to ask for opinion. i'm looking for a reusable and decent emergency bivvy, just in case (i don't do any serious hiking or etc, only on a hobby level). thanks!

Hi, As in a Karrimor bag from Sports direct? If so it will do exactly the same job, keep you out of the wind/rain and be obvious to search and rescue! Andy🤙

@@Wildernesswarriorbushcraft yes, that is the one. bcb seems like a bit thicker plastic than the karrimor, based on the sound. anyway, i think i'll try the karrimor as it is my only option that is readily available, it's better than nothing for a 1-day hike. cheers!

Definitely!! You should hopefully never need it! But that will do the job just fine!! Subscribe and spread the word!!!😉🤙
