TIP; Burst mode, when I know an event is going to happen at a particular location, like a bird leaving a perch, or a lightning strike, I take a burst mode photo and just hold the volume up button until the event happens, then release. When I go to select the photo I want, I know it will be toward the end of the series. The phone will take up to 999 photos before stopping. I simply start another burst until I get what I want. The unneeded photos are easy to delete. This is actually easier to do on the phone than it is on an expensive camera.

Normally I just figure things out, but this video was excellent! I use to think the Live mode was the most annoying and useless thing about the camera, and had no idea you could use it in the way you described. For a while you used to put the steps you took off to the left in their own box. That was helpful for people like me who need a few seconds to process what you are telling us to do. Did people object to that or did you stop because it was not worth the effort? I just wanted to add my two cents that it was very helpful. This was absolutely one of your best videos. 100% useful information. Thank you so very much. And congratulations on the twins.

Great video, for those of you not doing beta, 18.2 has many of these features more easily accessible as far as adjustments go. I would still follow the advice given in the general camera settings as suggested. I follow these rules with only one exception. Also the 18.2 beta has a (very) light version if you will of something like Lightroom that I find very useful and while some corrections can be made on the phone it is obviously easier to edit on a Mac.

I have a OnePlus Open, but watching these videos gives me ideas to look for in my own phone. Like there's already a choice of panoramic direction right in the camera frame at the start... But your video actually pointed that option out to me as I never think to use pano for tall shots like that. I normally first think of sideways wide angle. In past phones I always had problems trying to figure out how to do long exposure so I forgot about even thinking about doing it and it actually has a long exposure dedicated selection. I've often enjoyed shooting in Pro Raw but you helped explain what the HEIF setting on my phone really means. Grid and level is always my default. I too have learned the rule of thirds. Night Mode isn't bad but I do have a tendency to try opening up the shutter for more light. The most fun I have is shooting the moon... It's so awesome on the Open. That's when the Hasselblad lens goes to 120x digital zoom. Older phones I've had (like the LGV60) replaced burst photo with Live photo. I'm glad it's back because I'm not a fan of Live Photo. Lock in exposure is a good practice but I also like when my phone has FOCUS PEAKING for Pro mode. I'm surprised you didn't mention that. Doesn't the iPhone have that? You went over Portrait Mode but not macro photography. Why's that? Thanks for helping my understand f stop as I'm truly an amateur photographer trying to learn the jargon and understand the features. I think you'd get more views and subscribers if you stopped gearing these videos for iPhone people only. I want you to use me as proof that you could just do cellphone tips and not alienate the other 78% of the global smartphone market share that uses Android. Just talk about the features and maybe explain that "these features may be really available to all smartphone camera apps or just download s third party pro app,"
