Pro tip: if your d line rush doesn’t get any pressure, click down on your right thumbstick midplay to make your spy guy rush the qb after they’ve rolled. Instead of having them stand there in no mans land they brong unexpected late pressure (like a delayed blitz) and forces your op to make an untimely throw into coverage or out of bounds.

But if you’ve got any other guys in coverage in the area of the QB, they will abandon coverage and go for the ball also: so use with caution.

Your videos are fire. I would have never though to invert the spy and the contain player. Against Baltimore specifically, I think you really have to make some sacrifices on defense to take away the run and force them to beat you throwing from the pocket.

First time i ever played weekend league started 7-0 then everyone was running some kinda variant of this. Escape artist deadeye very toxic. But madden 20 passing is awful without.

Why don’t you use the option QB , the issue with Lamar isn’t him escaping it’s more of the read option....I was hoping you would touch more on the option QB button. I use contain and spy and now I use the option QB which all my players focus in on the QB

I’m really struggling to get this to work. I have Donald with all pass rushing abilities at the right 3 tech, I spread my line, slant outside, and then spy my right DE and then contain and I’m still getting destroyed. He’ll still get swallowed up in a double team and won’t get that outside contain to where he can disengage. I had more success just blitzing 7 and running around with a safety. Is it more to do with the order of which you make the adjustments? Should you base align? Seemingly everytime I run it my left DE (Greenlaw in the video) isn’t as far wide as in the video. Should I then spread my LBs to try to get the contain angle farther outside?

Which coverage are you running? You are spreading the DTs, not the ends (OLBs), right?

Deuce Close Tampa 2. And yes I’m spreading D line which only spreads the two DTs. I played one game and tried spreading d line, qb containing, and then putting a DE in a spy and that seems to work a little more consistently so maybe it is the order that does it. But there were still times where Donald would just get sucked into a double team and my spy would be pretty much useless even though he has 94 speed.

Gabe Soto u have to find plays where the rush angles from the dline are more outside than straight down. Preferably a 4 lineman front

Yeah I Use this and nickel 245 as my pass defense....like 236 because asside from running palms ...cover 9, cover 3 buzz match, 2 man under, buck slant 3, over load press, cover 2, press quarters...all look the same pretty much pre snap.....also...you can put LB at defensive tackle ...may have missed that if u mentioned it

Good stuff. I usually run big nickel and put fast safety at LB and spy him. Shuts down Lamar, but leaves you susceptible to passes over the middle.
