What sucks is that there's no regular Cover 4 match (the Narduzzi Cover 4). In that, the safeties are pattern reading the #2 receivers. If they go vertical, they take them in man. If they don't, they come down and rob the curl. The corners are in man if the #1s go vertical. If the #1 goes underneath, the corner generally drops to a deep quarter. The outside backers are flying to the flats and the Mike has the middle hole. On a running play, the safeties are coming downhill and taking away the alleys. It's a combination of safety and aggression.

When I coached we used the Banjo technique in our man coverage, and were often facing two back sets.
