Good work! you said division of any two Integer is the result of a rational number. The division of two irrational numbers can also be a rational number. For example: √2 /√2 =1 which is rational number. So why everyone on KZbin say p/q both MUST BE the numbers from the Integer set?? Can two numbers be written in the form of p/q when both have non-termination decimals at the end??

Can't any number be expressed as a ration of two integers?

Many can't be, such as the square root of 2. No whole number multiplied by itself will equal 2.

+C Hey! Think of a and b as any real numbers (like 2 and 3). So a over b just represents a fraction (like 2 over 3). But really it could be any fraction. The point of using letters instead of numbers is to show that the process will work for any fraction. -Anthony :)

+C Yup! In this case a and b can be any INTEGER (any whole number or its negative counterpart). They can not be decimals.
