To get Turkish Residency Permit, now foreigners need to buy a property of minimum USD $65000. What is the length of this TRC? And can it be renewed as long as the foreigner owns the property? How long can a foreigner live in Turkiye on Residency Permit?

Legal issues in this regard vary from case to another, only your personal lawyer can answer these questions after reviewing or processing your case.

@@user-ov2tm2un1r In my opinion if the rules are clearly defined on Türkiye government website it will give more confidence to foreign investors. This is by no means small amounts that anyone can take a chance with. It's a simple question if government has defined the minimum amount $65,000 to get a Turkish residency didn't they define how many years will it be for and is it renewable as long as one holds the property? This is a basic question for an investor and we expect you could answer it being expert in this arena. Thank You.

Are you serious? That seems excessive even for millionaires. I am in US where millionaires actually pay less tax than the average middle class families. Given the economic crisis in Turiye and a raging war in the neighborhood, one has to be desperate to think about retiring in Turkiye these days. I entertained the idea 5-6 years ago. But, we have entered a different world after the pandemic. The globalization that had benefited many developing nations including Turkiye is unraveling now. What we are seeing in the front-row theater countries is the consequences of that. Supply chain disruptions played a role for sure, but that is not the whole reason. Main reason is the degloblization, which seems inevitable as a result of China’s ambitions of replacing the West. I am afraid The economic pain in Turkiye and other developing countries will get worse before gets better. The war is also a big unknown. Who wants to live in a country where a lot of people are suffering in poverty, unable to afford even the basics like food and shelter? Understandably, an anti-foreigners sentiment is also growing due to the presence of large immigrant populations from Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia, Africa and others. It would be prudent to be cautious if you are not a native of Turkiye. Economic hardships tend to bring out the worst in people.

This is the reason USA doesn't have a war against Türkiye directly, what do they do? They use the terrorist group in the east at the Syrian border. I was thinking of retiring in Türkiye and today I still do. I would like to buy a property from Fethiye or somewhere in the south that is always great weather and beautiful. Here in Canada we pay the most taxes in the world. Yes we live in a luxury lifestyle but lately it's a burden on us. I don't plan on staying here anymore. I have moved to Canada in 1987, and I made this place my home but for the last 10 years it got out of control. Our young generation can't afford homes anymore. Our cheapest home is $1 million and that's for a garbage old home that requires another $100k to renovate. Will it start getting better? Yes if we can get rid of the Liberals that's in power for the last 8-10 years now. Since they came on power Canadian lifestyle got worse.

@@NotTooExtreme It is a myth perpetuated by Erdogans AKP to energize their voter base of religious people. Why would US wage war against Turkey? Wars cost money, lots of it, and American lives. Amerlca usually wouldn’t get into a war unless there is a justifiable reason. Iraq wars and Afghan wars had justified reasons back then. Saddam invaded Kuwait and threatened to have monopoly on the Middle Eastern oil, which is the base of American dollars dominance in international trade. Afghanistan was harboring Bin Laden and Al Qaida and US public needed a punching bag to calm down their angers after the Sep 11. What Turkiye has as a reason for American war? Nothing. Erdogan has been trying all he can to provoke American anger for domestic consumption. He is trying to perpetuate a false impression for Turks that being a Muslim nation is a good enough reason for America to hate Turkiye. But, in truth Turkiye doesn’t matter that much to America any more, at least not as much as it used to during the cold war. Turkiyes strategic location was a great asset to the West during the cold war, but since the cold war is over, Turkiye is not that important any more. That’s a fact. Erdogan is just trying all he can to get attention like an attention seeking child. But, US has bigger fish to fry. If you are thinking about retiring in Turkiye, it is your choice. Probably you have done your homework already. Yes, housing prices have gone up crazy everywhere, including US, Canada and Turkey. Because, when people sense economic uncertainties in the future, they tend to hedge their bets on real estate. Turkiye has a crazy inflation rate of 100%. I would buy real estate to preserve the calue of money if I lived in Turkiye. The same thing here in US and Canada. If you sell your house in Canada, you can retire comfortably in Turkiye. Fethiye and Marmaris are great towns with a sizable English speaking expats. Good luck to you!

$200 for a property tax and that's maximum, what a joke. Come to Canada and pay thousands of dollars, mine is $8500 yearly. We North Americans are fools paying so much. People from Türkiye, come to North America and see what we go through with high expenses. This guy came from Türkiye and can't afford to get his carpets cleaned. Be happy where you are and work hard and smart.

@@TravAlligator how much higher? $200 vs $8500, that's 42.5 difference. Are you saying that in Canada people earn 42x more than in Türkiye? Our minimum here is about $2000 after taxes. Their minimum is around $300-$400 q month, the difference is about 5.
