ALL the gifts of the Holy Spirit have not ceased. Cessesationism is heresy defined
@douggreenway72832 ай бұрын
@@ShamelesslyRed Amen Red! The gifts consistently tend to cease wherever “believers” tend toward doubt, fear and unbelief. He told some; it’s your faith that made you whole. You believed I could do this and I did! Interesting to note that Jesus could do very little in His own home town and among His own people where they knew He was just the local carpenter’s son…. He is willing and able. And He doesn’t waver or change. Are we able to believe, stand firm and receive? People need to ask; “What will it mean to give up my sickness, disease or ailment?” Accepting new responsibilities perhaps ??? Freedom always comes with responsibilities!

Power to endure Pastor Jack ??? Did Jesus come to set the captives free ? Does He ever leave the demon possessed partially delivered ? What does free mean ? He went about all Galilee….healing ALL manner of sickness and disease among the people. Did you find even one instance where people came to Jesus for healing but Jesus refused them??? Is Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever. Will the prayer of faith heal the sick and will they Lord always raise them up. Or will praying in doubt and unbelief get the opposite? Is God offended or dishonored by our exercise of doubt and unbelief rather than praying in faith and trust? Are WE dishonored or offended when our children doubt and mistrust us ?? Could Paul advise taking something for Timothy’s stomach and also be praying and believing for His healing. Could unconfessed sin, unreconciled relationships or neglect of repentance hinder healing manifesting ? Could the church walking in the flesh rather than in the Spirit be hindrances ?? Was Jesus Himself hindered in performing miracles in his own home town because of doubt and unbelief ? Yes, that’s what the Bible says!

”and He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed.“ (1 Peter 2:24) ”Now when evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill. This happened so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled: “He Himself took our illnesses and carried away our diseases.” (Matthew 8:16-17) ”For there is no partiality with God.“ (Romans 2:11)

I still don’t understand why people still pray for healing when Jesus and the disciples never did.

Very good brother! I love your teaching! Maybe Paul never prayed for Timothy? Maybe Timothy never asked for healing?

Or that water he was drinking was just bad like some countries still today

Maybe Paul was simply recommending a little wine because he knew it was good for Timothy’s stomach which wan’t sick at all? A preventative ?

Give me a biblical definition of each of the gifts. We may not fully understand what they were and are making a lot of man made assumptions. I’m a Christian and have yet to hear a BIBLICAL definition of the gifts. Just a though for all theologians to consider. We may not be as smart as we think we are. 😊

Maybe read the Bible and see what it says about the gifts. And then read the ante-nicene fathers to see how the gifts operated in their communities

What is your definition of a cessationist

@@dianaaasims The gifts to the apostles have ended because all the apostles died is what cessationists believe. God still heals and does miracles
