Yes dear brother! The looming fall of Damascus aligns with prophetic events that Christians have watched for centuries. Amos 1:3-5 warns of divine judgment against Damascus for its violence: “I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which will devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad. I will break the gate bar of Damascus.” Could the rebel advance and the destruction of Assad’s infrastructure be part of this prophetic fire? Whether or not these are the precise fulfillment of prophecy, they showcase the urgency of being ready for Christ’s return. In a world filled with chaos and deception, Christians must stand firm in their faith, guard against spiritual complacency and stay anchored in God’s Word.

All of us will continue to watch Bible Prophecy unfold as Syria is the assembly point of Gog/Magog. "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work"- John 9:4. "Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light"- Amos 5:18.

It is also interesting that Isaiah 17:12-14 identifies a coalition of nations rebuked by the hand of God. I believe this is the Gog/Magog coalition of Ezekiel 38/39.

The Bible has long associated Damascus with prophetic warnings. Isaiah 17:1-3 declares: “See, Damascus will cease to be a city; it will become a ruinous heap.” This prophecy foretells the city’s destruction and desolation, a stark vision that resonates as rebel forces secure towns near Damascus, such as Izraa, and gain control of significant territory in the surrounding Daraa Governorate. Jeremiah 49:23-27 also prophesies doom for Damascus: “Damascus has grown feeble and turns to flee, and fear has seized her; anguish and sorrows have taken her like a woman in labor… Her young men will fall in her streets, and all the men of war will be cut off in that day, says the Lord of Hosts.” The current flight of Assad’s forces from key cities like Homs and reports of destruction echo the Bible’s prophetic words.

What Israel has faced so far is but proxy militias armed by Russia and Iran. It was expected that Turkey would also put their hat in as well. These are only the forward elements of a larger conflict to come.

Some of these militia are also being armed by other Arab states like Qatar supporting and financing, for instance, Hamas, to the tune of Billions of dollars over the years, and this while the US is a staunch ally of Qatar, with the White House, not so long ago giving strong assurance of their continuing relationship. Strange isn't it. The other thing as far as this new situation in Syria is concerned, people are celebrating the removal of the tyrant Assad only to have him be replaced by another tyrannical group, the leader of whom said after taking over Damascus, said Gaza and Israel is next.

As far as the timetable, that’s obviously something we just have to watch and see, as well as a clear picture of who is in view in reference to Magog. My intention is just to make sure that we’re looking at the scripture as the lens theough which we view current events.
