Surprised this video has no comments yet 2 years later. THIS is the single most important piece of dialogue that I personally believe predicts the future of the Destiny franchise post Light & Dark Saga. Balance. That was the whole point of this dungeon named "Prophecy". The writing and voice acting in this scene is fantastic, can only imagine how much of a bigger deal and how many people would remember it if we would've got a cutscene for this. But I really enjoy the way it was presented anyways as you wouldn't be able to see in EITHER worlds devoid of light or dark.

I keep coming back to this video to see how it could relate to season of the deep. I know for sure this does. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4PQipZqnchkicU The Emissary is doing what the Vex do... simulating realities, possible futures, visions of sorts... right? We are learning what we've been learning for years. Balance of life and dark. But let me persuade you in a different perspective. Instead of a balance of light and dark, what if we had neither? "Lets play the game" We're playing the game. I think this was a 4th wall break in the same way the flower game can be, or other 4th wall destiny references. I think back to the quote, "keep playing the game." We're playing the game of life, and the game can end when we break the rules. Guardians make their own fate. "I said I'm done" Drifter does not like playing the game. I feel as if this is a way of saying helping either side regardless of balance leads to either a world full of light or dark. With either of them existing, it leads to eternal suffering. Without either... we don't know.

@MaximizingDestiny scrap what I said about Vex (not really, but likely...) instead... how about ahamkara? 6 months later do you still feel this will play a role post final shape or in the next season or two?

I feel like this is relevant in this season. Particularly, I believe the "your feet find purchase in shifting sands" quotes are connected to the events in first weekly mission

Could it be... a wish? One of the first things we learn about the nine is their WISH for us to understand. Wish granted. (ahamkara) Your feet find purchase in shifting sands.

It HAS to be ahamkara. The.. wish... for us to understand. It is SO simple. It is the same as riven when she became taken. In Oryx's wish to take riven, when Oryx died she gained free agency all whine remaining taken. Same for Orin. She is mostly an emissary but can be Orin if her will so wishes to be.
