I heard the story of the woman forced to carry her Potters baby to term. He lived for 94 minutes. And this is the scenario that is referred to (100% bogusly) as "post-birth" abortion -- meaning the child with catastrophic anomalies is not resuscitated. They have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. No family should have to do through this. It's tragic enough without the intervention of ignorant cruel fools.

A lot of this speaks to the fact that our elected officials no longer feel a direct connection to the electorate. Regretting the fact you helped pass a trigger law, and saying you thought it wouldn't ever have the chance to go into effect shows that you don't care as much about how your electorate will feel, since you don't just have to deal with them, but instead feel the need to appeal to particular groups, which will also entitle you to election funding and vocal support by said groups. This is a byproduct of unregulated funding caused by corporate America when Citizens United was passed. The only recourse we have is to bypass big donors and ask working class Americans to fund candidates they actually feel will work for them. $1 Billion did not help Kamala Harris win. That's because working class Americans know how the game is rigged, and that big money controls everything.

Which is why Senator Bernie Sanders' FDR Democracy 2.0, has created the Progressive Democrats, following Bernie's lead, who take no corporate money & promise to overturn Citizens United, & are the majority of the DNC, but, leadership are still corporate-owned centrists 😡 who spend millions of dollars on attack ads, against Progressive Democratic candidates during their Primaries, & backing another corporate-owned centrist. 😡 Bernie won his Senate Seat, he's not giving up & neither am I.

Private Equity HedgeFunders have purchased our hospitals, they have no voice! FDR outlawed Private Equity HedgeFunders, and we push for FDR's Well-Being Programs, that apply to everyone, nearly eliminating Poverty and Crime. We are the only modern country that does not have the Well-Being Programs, that apply to everyone, but, R's. Blocked it here, because they refused to include minorities. Tax the Wealthy 🧐, again, Break-up Monopolies, again, & wrest big money out of Politics.

You're asking the wrong question. This is not a case of doctors not "speaking up" and there's no "they" who can stop it. The only people who can stop it is "we"--you, me, us--we need to advocate and pressure lawmakers to modify these bans. Before, during, and since the passage of these laws, doctors have told lawmakers this would happen.

Excellent reporting. One of the biggest problems with hospitals and employees is the written standard of care or best medical practice ---(which they are not following anymore). Employees, including doctors, work for corporate America. These hospitals are tax-funded, yet the hospital and the insurance are owned by the same corporation (even though they are tax-funded). Something like Citizens United has driven paid off government (especially the supreme court) into behaviors to subjugate any group they can subjugate to keep systemic nightmares like foster care, the prison system, courts, adult Guardianship via Probate, and many other systemic nightmares alive. When is the last time you have seen any progress in the medical community at all. There has not been anything. NADA. All this money being poured into countless systemic abuse. not a good ending. We will end up like countless third-world countries with multiple angry groups because of subjugation and atrocities. When there is no recourse, relief or any legal means to stop atrocities from the courts or our politicians ---well shit happens. Its inevitable. The road to hell is lined with good intentions.

I agree with the information and general tradegy unfolding in our country. Any chance a look at the economic side a the doctors, hospital trips, repeated scans, etc has on our most vulnerable women and families? How does it effect hospitals, insurance companies and investors bottom line?

As a former reporter, it's interesting to me to hear how your staff are cultivating sources and building reportage. And I understand that videos like this are probably at least partly about showing the hard work and impact of your reporting in hopes of finding funding. However, for the general public, I think shorter, more specific story-based video content would be more interesting and accessible. An hour is a long time for most audiences to listen to the process of reporting and it may not capture most people's attention.

Sadly, medical boards in most states are wholly toothless and ineffective in terms of protecting the public or punishing or removing malpracticing physicians. Among other reasons: 1) They're made up entirely of doctors, who have very little incentive to investigate or sanction colleagues, and a lot of motive to maintain their profession's mystique; 2) They move exceptionally slowly, often by design, and allow the investigated physician to go on practicing and harming patients in the meantime.

i wanted to comment on the D & C procedure. Cassandra had mentioned it was an abortion. back in the day this was not true as that procedure was part of the treatment for abnormal bleeding and similar female maladies. i have not googled it to see if things have changed.
